  1. Tried the different permutations of username. Do you think this is linked to looking for the smoothwall root certificate? Ern
  2. Thanks The setup is Smoothwall - AD Will give this a try its only the Pixel and Chromebooks where the problem lies. Ern
  3. Having a real problem trying to connect Chrome books to our Radius Wireless. I think I've tried all the authentication and cert settings possible. Any Help would be much appreciated One of the settings which seemed the most obvious, though with no luck:- EAP method: PEAP Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAP-V2 CA certificate: Do not validate Identity: domain\username Password: password Thanks for any possible help. Ern
  4. Two of my schools who share a number of staff are requesting that the shared drives from each school be accessible for these people at the same time in what ever school that they are currently working in. Maybe just restricting access down to a specific folders eg Health and Safety. They currently use vpn to connect to the other site, they are looking for an easier way to access the files. Both use Office 365. Is this possible? Any thoughts on how this could be done? Thanks Ern
  5. Found that I had not turned on 'Teams for Students' just having 'Education - Faculty and Staff' Thanks to leegcvcc for me to focus on another angle as students were certainly correct in csv. Using v1.9.5.0 salamander Re ran SDS students still not populated in the O365 groups will I have to wait 24hours for them to appear? Ern
  6. I am using Salamander free. The Office365 class groups are created and the class teacher is added as the owner but no students are being added to the group. Within Teams when the teacher tries to look for the O365 group of course this reports as empty. They can add the students manually. I had been under the impression that The O365 group would be populated with students leaving them to add students to the Team by searching for the O365 group. Found this on the Salamander site From 26th March 2020 – SDS will still create the Office 365 Group and add the teacher and students. However, the Microsoft SDS process will no longer create Teams. Teachers will need to manually create their Class Teams and add Students. These can be done by searching for and selecting the Class Office 365 Group, during the class team setup process. You will not need to add students one by one. Any thoughts? Thanks Ern
  7. We are still trying to upload just keeps spinning. Is anyone else having this problem? We use smoothwall and have added the site still no success. Any Thoughts Progress of sorts.... The information has been uploaded but has hit a wall. With the bulk vouchers there is an error when you try to put it through for payment. Any Thoughts Thanks Ern
  8. Thanks I will give this ago. Ern
  9. Created a Lock down message on Friday, this morning disappeared in the ‘History’. Notify is good for those instant messages. However, for those just in case messages there seems to be a flaw. I would have thought a save option would be a necessity. We had hoped that a Lock Down message, could have easily been accessed. Ern
  10. Does anyone know if it’s possible and if so how to save a prepared Critical Message alert in NetSupport Notify. Thinking of Lockdown of course and the time to write a message Thanks Ern
  11. The problem certainly lies with PowerPoint 2016 We did the drivers & gpo settings bit with no result On half of the deployed tvs we now use mains powered HDMI splitters these have no problem (CPC do these for £15ish). Pc Display port to hdmi >splitter > tv > hdmi monitor. Though with these we did found a sound problem with the windows not finding the sound output, one brand of splitters required the tv hdmi to be in port1. On the other brand the pc preferred the monitor to have built-in speakers. For the rest of the tvs the teachers are slowly learning the Windows + P key to select the duplicate screen option Ern
  12. This is our current situation Disabled hardware graphics acceleration Disabled Slide Show hardware graphics acceleration Disabled Use Presenter View The below gives Mixed thoughts on this problem- Our HP 400 G5 pcs, these have the intel UHD Graphics 630 and Office 2016 and a HP 400 G4 (intel HD Graphics 630) pc with a powered HDMI splitter. Display port to HDMI Tv and monitor Both these setups have no problem So is it possible it’s a combination of graphics and PP settings? As the problem has caused lots of support issues and teacher annoyance all of the classrooms with Tvs these would have either a HP 400 G4 or HP 8200 have been returned to Office 2010 SP2 The only thing not tried is a graphics card. The next round of pc purchases will no doubt be HP 400 G5 so this may confirm the graphics and PP settings theory. Let’s hope Office 2019 may offer a solution. Ern
  13. After a week’s holiday of course no chance of the problem going away! The Teachers who have bothered to keep a record show that it is inconsistent, could the version of PPT it had been created in be the answer? We are using HP 400G4 and HP 8200 pcs and Prowise Tv’s The connections are VGA to the PC Monitor and Display port to HDMI on tv. This worked fine before upgrading to Office 2016. The workaround is still the windows key + P, of course this is not ideal. I like the idea of the HDMI splitter so will try pc Display port to the splitter and then to the Monitor & Tv Ern
  14. Any more thoughts or solutions on this post. Moved to Office 2016 from 2010 over the holiday ever since experiencing the same problem. On both Win7 and Win10 pcs. So far Disabled hardware graphics acceleration Disabled Slide Show hardware graphics acceleration Unticked Use Presenter View Tried the topology reg fix Set other printers a default Problem now very inconsistent, but still causing issues in the classroom. When it occurs having to use the windows key + P as a workaround. Even that sometimes does not work resulting in a turn off/on of the Tv Any help or thoughts to this issue would be appreciated. Maybe it’s a return to Office 2010 for these classrooms Ern
  15. Thanks for the replies Editing in a browser on a pc works fine. Trying on mobile (android) no luck. Tried with a new shared word doc and from a new install of Firefox for Android received this message after Logged in: Can’t open file We couldn’t apply organisational policies to give you access to your account because of an intune service error Please try again later Is this maybe to do with MDM administration in Office 365? Ern
  16. We have been trying to edit a shared excel document in one drive from Android and Windows 10 phones. The excel app is installed (free version). The file opens as read only. We have O365 A1 subscription. Is it possible to enable this? Regards Ern
  17. We are having a problem trying to ban mathplayground.com in smoothwall This of course has been entered in ‘Students Blocked URLs’ This still can be accessed by students. When we do a category search the list returned:- Education and Reference Online Games Students Blocked URLs We suspect either ‘Education and Reference’ or ‘Online Games’ is allowing access unsure what to do and unsure of the consequences Your Thoughts would be appreciated Ern
  18. It certainly seems if SORBS is the problem What are the best SMTP RBL check sites to use? Do you think drop sorbs for another? Ern
  19. Many are complaining about slow receipt of incoming mail from a GMail account, the delay can be as long as one day. We use smoothwall for spam filtering the entries in 'SMTP RBL checks' are: zen.spamhaus.org,bl.spamcop.net,dnsbl.sorbs.net Example of returned message from an email:- The error that the other server returned was: 554 5.7.1 Service unavailable; Client host [209.85.214.54] blocked using dnsbl.sorbs.net; Currently Sending Spam See: SORBS Database Lookup Any ideas? Thanks Ern
  20. Hello Folks Having tried this. Unfortunately no luck. Have I missed something. Even tried blocking the whole site (scratch.mit.edu) Thanks Ern
  21. We have a ticket open as well and still waiting! Thanks for your reply Ern
  22. Just to continue this thread Like many all worked well when testing the Java version when first setup in May. Stations still pass the Java front page test. Using the non-java plugin, so with the enlight EKSLWPlugin is installed and logging in as an administrator. Using a ECDL test user account, then selecting a test to take, ET2 will run the ‘System Requirement Check’ this runs fine down to the ‘Plugin’ test this shows ok, but stops at the .Net Framework test, then 30 seconds later the Plugin shows Error ‘No Plugin detected’ the .NET and the other tests show in progress. The log shows:- EKSLWPlugin version: 1.0.252.0 (32-bit) Wed Nov 18 12:20:49 2015 et2setup called Wed Nov 18 12:20:49 2015 CommandThread::start() called Wed Nov 18 12:20:49 2015 thread started Wed Nov 18 12:20:49 2015 Queueing: START_BROKER Wed Nov 18 12:20:49 2015 Starting CommandThread Wed Nov 18 12:20:49 2015 Waiting for command got arguments 2 bits: 32 Downloading pack: 20150910-0000712-5/ekslwpack.do URL: https://s11.enlight.net/phoenix-inst1/s/lw/20150910-0000712-5/ekslwpack.do Download complete 207398 bytes Starting 32-bit broker process. Unable to launch broker process: PIPE not available after 30s: \\.\pipe\eksinapp_frAQBc8Ws Wed Nov 18 12:21:21 2015 Waiting for command Go back and select the test again, the system requirement test will run again and completes with all test passing. The test runs as expected, but I seem to remember under the java version questions loaded quicker. I added s11.enlight.net/phoenix-inst1/s/lw/20150910-0000712-5/ekslwpack.do into Smoothwall Authentication Exceptions as suggested previously Anyone else having this issue? And am I just imagining the tests questions run slower Regards
