there is a much simpler option now pending how helpful your supplier is. I recent had a situation where my customer who was a consultant was taking over from a rogue network manager. long and short was the direct end user emailed me specific permission to view all licenses attached to that company. i contacted microsoft to explain the situation and they just asked for a copy of the email. job done everything was combined into one account and viewable by the end user within a day You can of course do that directly yourself with microsoft but im not sure if the procedure is the same. hope that helps

[windows software] XP downgrade discs on Win7 machines
Poco replied to SimpleSi's topic in Licensing Questions
phone the manufacturer directly. some still offer the downgrade discs. -
just as a thought, i would also check into the data protection side of this. obviously secure data regarding pupils etc is allowed on work equipment but then once it is transferred to the staff member, in the eyes of the law wouldnt that be considered storing it on staff's personal equipment? further to that as you have no control of said item, they could innocently pass it on at some point without wiping it. i only raise this as we all know recovery software can get things from formatted HDD's with ease. I would imagine to keep in touch with that it would be a requirement to maybe replace the HDD in it? Please correct if am wrong. random passing thought when i was reading this

Cisco Smartnet contract - WLAN Controller - best place to purchase?
Poco replied to Paid_Peanuts's topic in Hardware
Hi Paid Peanuts, any reseller that is a cisco partner can do this for you. also, if you are looking to save more money on this i would consider using a 3rd party cover for it. Cisco now approve of this also. the main company i know that do this is a company called Modis. not sure if they deal direct to the end user as they are a supplier of ours but may be worth a call and check with them to save some pennies. the other reason i mention them is Cisco sub contract out a significant amount of work to them for call outs etc. hope you find something -
hi jabellamy, i will have a word with my kyocera contact and seen if there are any known issues or any downloads etc to fix your issue.

hi ignatius, i would advise against using licensing with machines that you do not own. there are surrounding issues which can get very complicated for the sake of saving a bit of cash. i would advise buying Home & Business 2010 retail which is product code: T5D-00159. DO NOT get the PKC version which is cheaper as it wont work unless you have 2010 starter pack currently installed. You can expect to pay around £160 per user from your preferred reseller.

Hi, i have just ahd a look at what is available an on the HP range i would agree with Chris. Outside of HP i would recommend a Kyocera FS-1370DN. toner pricing is higher but lasts a lot longer so is cheaper in how much you will spend in a year. You can expect to pay around the £180 mark ex VAT. Specs etc below for you and i hope this helps General Information Manufacturer: Kyocera Mita Manufacturer Part Number: 1102L03NL0 Manufacturer Website Address: KYOCERA MITA | Homepage - laserprinter, printer, copier, multifunctionals Brand Name: Kyocera Mita Product Model: FS-1370DN Product Name: FS-1370DN Laser Printer Product Type: Laser Printer Technical Information Recommended Use: Plain Paper Print Print Colour: Monochrome Maximum Mono Print Speed (ppm): 35 Maximum Photo Print Speed: Not Applicable Maximum Print Resolution: 1200 x 1200 dpi Duplex Printing: Automatic Memory Standard Memory: 128 MB Storage Hard Drive Capacity: Not Applicable Interfaces/Ports Interfaces/Ports: 1 x USB 2.0 - USB Display & Graphics Display Screen Type: LCD Media Types & Handling Media Type: Plain Paper Media Size: A4 Media Handling: 1 x Cassette 250 Sheet Number of Input Trays Install: 2 Number of Input Trays Support: 4 Standard Input Media Capacity: 300 sheets Maximum Input Media Capacity: 800 sheets Physical Characteristics Form Factor: Desktop Miscellaneous Platform Support: PC

personally i would take 5 machines that are giving this behaviour (this will mean they are out for some time) Now i have my 5 i would change 1 component in each and wait to see what happens. if no results mark down what was changed and change it back. then try a different set of components. if after you have changed all of the components you still have it i would then be looking at software sides such as the CMOS side of things and maybe buy 3 batteries and change them. the real long and short of your situation is that there is no quick answer and realistically if you dont have parts stocked (which most people dont) enough to do the testing there will be no way of solving it without spending. i think the cmos battery might be a good call although it is a bit strange it is intermittent for such a period of time.

Windows 7 Pro to Windows XP Pro downgrade help!
Poco replied to pbaddhan's topic in Licensing Questions
pbaddhan, if you need any further clarification i have an email from our dell account manager in regards to downgrades. i would copy past but it is an image within it so cant copy the text. if you have a hotmail or something i will happily drop it over (or if there is a way for me to upload it here?) to you but the above from Steve is pretty much the solution
