  1. I'll take a look tomorrow if I have time but it might have to wait. Hopefully Adobe will fix it for me but I won't count on it.
  2. @ SLMHC: how is your Xenserver networking setup? I know that Xenserver doesn't support LACP but you can bond NICs. If I run through how mine is setup maybe we can compare notes. I have three cards on my 7110 in an LACP link that go into a HP2910al switch, until today I didn't have flow control turned on on the ports carrying iSCSI traffic but I've read recently that that's more important than jumbo frames. I'll see how that goes. On the Xenservers I've got 2 NIC's bonded that can see the 7110 carrying iSCSI traffic and 2 NIC's that the general network sees to connect to my Windows VM's. I've not configured any special settings on the HP switch to accommodate these NIC bonds as I've read that it's not necessary (not quite sure). All on my iSCSI traffic is on the same switch VLAN separated from all other traffic. 1. Do you just use single NIC's on your Xenservers or are you using NIC bonds as well? 2. Do you have flow control enabled on your HP switch ports that carry iSCSI traffic? I picked up the flow control vs jumbo frames info here. http://searchnetworkingchannel.techtarget.com/tip/0,289483,sid100_gci1255870,00.html Cheers.
  3. Sometimes my fileservers seem a bit sluggish when busy but nothing that anyones complained about. I've got 3 NICs in an LACP bond using iSCSI and it doesn't seem to struggle. Post us a screenshot in the other thread when you think things are slow, go on you know you want to
  4. We've been seeing some pretty high ops on the disk as well. Take a look at this thread a few users have posted screenshots of what their 7110s are upto. I was backing up some VM's today and saw over 4000 ops/sec on the disks http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/49702-sun-7110-disk-network-load.html
  5. Right I thought i'd create a new thread this issue seems to of been introduced in v11.5.2.602 and later versions. It only seems to happen for 'users' though if I log on as an admin to troubleshoot the issue I don't see the issue. A few posts blame a virus but i've tested this on several PC's including a new build and scanned them all with upto date AV. This happens on XP and a Server 2003 Citrix box. Adobe Forums: 11.5.2.602 Group Policy Installation... Has anyone deployed this version of Shockwave and solved the issue? Thanks.
  6. Right I thought i'd post this as the issue seems to of been introduced in v11.5.2.602 I've not found a solution yet but this is exactly what happens with version v11.5.2.606. It only seems to happen for 'users' though if I log on as an admin to troubleshoot the issue I don't see the issue. Adobe Forums: 11.5.2.602 Group Policy Installation... 7. I got the school to agree to some time and support, I bought the books and they paid for the exams. The exams are approx £100 a go but under the way they're now structured you don't need to pass 6+ exams to become and MCSE you can take smaller groups of exams. Just 2 exams will get you MCITP on client or server then you build them up. It's a better format now IMO.
  8. I've repeatedly changed it from legal to A4 on the server then at random times they start acting up again and I notice that it's set back to legal on the server.
  9. Yep that's what I wondered. Like I say i've unassigned the old version and deployed the new version. Typically there's a small issue grrrr, 11.5r596 - 11.5r600 - 11.5r601 all deployed and worked just fine. I've deployed 11.5r606 and each time it's run it says configuring shockwave for 10 seconds then starts. It must need something adding to the user profile i'll have a play later.
  10. Take a look at Client-side targeting. This involves setting up groups on WSUS then you apply settings via GPO to tell computers which group to join, you can then apply different approvals to the groups e.g. Test Group and General Group and so on. wsus - Creating Target Groups
  11. As above go for the managers job but I do know that MS certs do help you get through the paper sift. You can always mention that ypu're working towards a couple. I took the Vista version of this exam and it really wasn't all that difficult, i'm sure you have windows client configuring and troubleshooting experience now. http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en/us/Exam.aspx?ID=70-680
  12. I'm very tempted to take a look at one of them.
  13. Ok latest version deployed
  14. Just had a look on our SWG-708 and it says 'Web anti-virus engine' : Stopped. I don't think it's ever been enabled. That wasn't a decision we made so it's either not included in this version or it's turned off by default.
  15. Yes I usually deploy via GP as well, i'm just short on testing time at the moment and thought it better to ask if anyone has issues rather that waiting untill it's on 200 PC's I've just rolled it out to a room and no issues so far and no sign of the ADM as Michael said.
  16. I was reading a thread the other day about how improvements in Flash have made Shockwave almost redundant and so allot of sites don't use it anymore. In fact they were saying that they felt Adobe might just merge the two and just have Flash. This started me thinking how many important sites actually use Shockwave and should I even bother deploying or maintaining it. Anyone here not bothered deploying it and if so what issues have you found? Thanks.
  17. @ Michael: I wasn't sure if the ADM might of suddely appeared in the msi just checking. You know what Adobe are like for changing things. @ glennda: i've already applied, in fact i have before i'll see if the link is still active. Cheers.
  18. I'm just about to deploy the latest flash player using group policy, has anyone deployed the latest version yet does the new 'Adobe download manager' cause any issues or have any new switches that I should be aware of? Thanks.
  19. I was thinking the same at least if someone is going to divert the thread they can post a link to the general chat forum.
  20. I'll wait to see what HP support come up with and what the new unit is like. It sounds like there's a genuine issue as they're sending out a 'new' build.
  21. I'm using iSCSI to connect Xenserver to my 7110 SAN, i also have three cards on the SAN in an LACP link through a HP 2910al switch. Should i have flow control enabled on the ports that are part of the LACP link? I also have jumbo frames enabled on the 7110 but i'm not sure it's worth it as Xenserver 5.5 doesn't support it anyway, any ideas about that as well? Thanks. EDIT Look a bit like flow control might be recommended. http://communities.vmware.com/message/1432216
  22. It doesn't look like its recommended, have you used a pool with varied hardware? What are the Resource Pool Requirements for XenServer 5.5? - Server Fault
  23. The bidirectional support tab was greyed out even as an admin.
  24. I have two x4150s in a pool but the other Xenserver is a HP DL360 I was under the impression that the servers had to be similar hardware NIC config etc to be in a pool. Is that not the case?
  25. Same here running Home Premium on an NC10 with all the jazz turned on and it runs nicly. I ran the RC as well and had a couple of issues with the drivers but there's official Win7 drivers now and all is good
