I think the single image that got me most over the last day or so is the one of their 3 seater bike, with "just "Graeme Garden sat on it it was only a little drawn image.. but it struck me as such a good way to present the feelings...

They've mostly all been mentioned up thread, but our own one, wTimetable, is used within our own user base, it is designed to work natively with our own MIS as @DeeGee mentioned. There is TES Timetable, powered by Edval (also a 3rd party integrator with ourselves),but you would have to ask around for experience on that front. As @Keith-Johnson mentioned, a few of the other names are from other geographic regions and are a bit designed for their specific needs. If you're coming from a non cloud environment, such as Nova-T, we'll even allow you to import your structures from Nova-t directly into a cloud hosted model with wTimetable. Changing timeetable solution is a big shift so anything we can do to make the transition easier, is worth it in our view. In somewhat related commentary. Having reread the thread I noticed someone complained about being unable to view both weeks of a 2 week cycle in our own product. There is an imminent release that provides an almost complete overhaul of the scheduling screens which, among other things, ought to let you easily view the whole cycle on one view.

There is an option that might help, and it is pretty zero risk to at least try. In one of the recent releases we added a means to import the detail from your NovaT files directly into the wTimetable module. I have no idea what the end result will actually look like "but".. as you can execute this into a fresh Timetable model and, until you decide to, there is no way this is going to impact your live solution.. Worth a try, if only to see what your other options are. Timetabling is most definitely an arcane art, and your offer to step up and assist is laudable (10 out of 10, would encourage). Seriously though, if you can get your head around the various classical scheduling scenarios then it is an extremely transferable skill across multiple timetabling platforms, our own included.

@Deegee Not in any way a proper response to your original post but I think it would be remiss of me not to check.. Have you been involved in the ongoing pilot and development of the scheduling page overhaul? If not then feel free to reach out to me off channel and I will see if they need more hands at the wheel.

@Alis_Klar That, the spitting out of the re-usable quick report, is a major element of the new development. It isn't just designed to make the choices easier but also to provide you with a re-usable end result.

Ii is also about to get a major upgrade in the next release or so This development essentially removes the need to preselect the data columnss.

I can choose to add additional users to grant access to specific incidents/actions within our own solution. This is in addition to any specific user role permissions.

While accurate for digital file storage within the core student record, not strictly correct for Safeguarding content. Our student record has a lot of access rights controls independent for each section therein. This is the case for the safeguarding section. So a user could be granted full access to everything in the student record "except" safeguarding if you would so wish. Safeguarding access, at least on the demo systems I operate on, have 3 levels of access - None, user and lead (well 4 if you also consider the hybrid access of safeguarding practitioner which is essentially a defacto lead but only for specific students). This enables degrees of access on an incident by incident/action basis which will also impact any documentation attached to the incident/action.

Agree. The amount of small team early access stuff on steam that is actually pretty good quality is a bit of an 80's living room game developer renaissance.

Not him directly, but I have perused "many" a youtube/twitch stream on the "fun" of Dwarf Fortress

and I just sank around 40+ hours into a play of Dwarf Fortress over this last week. So easy to just zone out and then look up and go, crap its 1am!

Only that you know your staff. A reasonable lower limit prevents twitter style reporting and a reasonable max limit will curtail your more verbose staff. I tend to go for 50 at the low end and then maybe 2,500 at the top.

You need to create a new assessment type and then within that assessment type choose the result type of Comment.
