Yeah we still have 8-10 year old cisco's still in use we have no money. We have a procurve core! I been told I have some budget so I am planning to ditch another load of Cisco for Procurve brilliant kit for the money. Got some 5406's and 5412's to roll out as well.

Hi All, I am playing with UAG for work, I have got it working and a file trunk setup for file browsing. But can't upload over 1MB I have googled it and done all the suggestions and still the same I have even turned off file size in the trunk. Any tips on fixing this? Regards Luke

Solarwinds does the same as well and its free Software for Creating Network Diagrams and Maps (Windows Software) it scans the network and automatically builds a graphical network diagram. you may export your map to Microsoft Visio for further work. I use it a lot, supports LLDP, CDP and SNMP.

Duplex mismatch, For sure! Whats it plugging into? Try on your switch setting the duplex and speed and then clearing the interface to see if that fix's it.

Hi, the cisco's are mainly layer two 2950's but I will have a look around at the document to see if I can get it working.

Hi All, We have a mixture of Procurve and Cisco on the edge of the network and Procurve as our core. I can perform a WOL request procurve to proccurve fine. But can't do procurve to Cisco I have been googleing it as you do and can't find a straight answer. We are also putting PXE Boot at the same time and was told we could run into a little bit of trouble there. Any thoughts for me to try. Thanks Luke

Hi All, Google+ is now being blocked for our students as its classed as social networking as it's part of circles, but they need to share the photo's from Pisca which is part of it. Does any one know away of allowing the pic's but stopping them doing the social networking side of things. Regards Luke

Be careful because some HP Procurve for SPF ports are dual personality so they can be 4 fibre or 4 copper or a mixer but kills off some of your normal Ethernet ports.

Problem with Aruba its not cheap, we use Aruba and love it but its not the cheapest thing in the world.

I am going V6 external and V4 internal as no need internal to be running V6 what so ever. NAT to V6 is not much over head so simple solution and we are a big fe college.

I work for a college and we allow Youtube access but force safe search and also have keyword search filters in place on smoothwall. We do suffer from bandwidth issues at lunchtimes so looking at QoS solutions.

Hi Mate, I have done loads of stuff looking into this and spoken to a mate that is a apple tech and seems to think it looks like some apps are not picking up the proxy settings from the OS which means it looks direct. He said if you use a transparent proxy it works fine so I am going to set one up and going to try that. I let you know if I get it working : - )

I have had play, but I have got a old squid proxy use that has nothing but straight proxy access so it looks like a iPad bug.

Hi Alan, Can you tell me if your using a automatic proxy script or manual proxy. I have been in apple forums and other people have reported this as well. So it could be a OS related thing rather then the app.

Hi tom, I am using the same proxy my self and I can get there fine, and access the content, I have been doing a lot of digging and seems like a Apple thing some apps don't support proxy only direct connection and the youtube being one of them. Good old Apple strikes again.

Nah mate it just sits there for ages and then says content not available but on my pc on the same proxy I can access it fine.
