Dont need a 2 week timetable luckily.
-
Little bit too steep for us, given the monthly cost Did look at it though.
-
I had looked at that. Can I add block booking that are set each week? So where IT lessons are?
-
Hi all, We currently operate a paper based room system, where the first department to get the sheets win. Until I get it back I cant vet what they are booking and a lot of time gets wasted where other departments cant use the room. What have you guys used in the past? Preferably for free or as cheap as possible. Thanks

Will mention that to the head of ICT. See what we can do from a H&S point of view.
-
Not a bad idea. Might pass that on Thanks. Any more appreciated.

Hi guys, Me and the head of ICT are planning for open evening this year for prospective parents, and we want something to put on display to show the kinds of things we do in ICT. Any ideas? Thanks

We have a suite of RM Ones and some of the computers are seemingly randomly typing 2 letters together. The shift key stops working, and sometimes the backspace. The letters it types together is different on each computer, and even after swapping keyboards it still does it after about 5 after booting up. Tried USB and PS2. These computers also sometimes have problems with the mice stopping working until you either restart or unplug it and move it to another USB port. This is a fresh Windows 7 image on each machine, and an identical suite of slightly older revision do not share the problem. It's is isolated to these computers. Any help appreciated.

Same issue as any user. Yet to hear back from our LA to see what they have come up with.

Thanks, thats what our LA support tried.

Hi guys, Just upgraded the bursars computer to windows 7. FMS works beautifully except for the email part for BACS remittance emails. When trying to import ready to run a report if she has remittance checked it will fail and wont import. Without it works fine. Testing the email setup from FMS gives the error "Class not registered" and fails. It worked previously on XP with no settings difference. Any help appreciated, Thanks

Lol. Think ive figured it out now. Will report back.

Cant do it that way unfortunately. The head of ICT (curriculum) is my line manager. He wanted me to do a progressive move rather than all at once so we can iron out faults. Already built the new servers too on to the existing domain. The problem we are going to have is with programs like successmaker, which is why we needed the CC3 network in place for as long as possible.
-
Yeh, we had the same issue. For 7 clients, just put them in an OU on their own, and just apply a windows 7 WMI filter to all the user policies and block inheritence on the OU. For XP clients, the GPOs that apply arent too bad, just that they dont map printers or drives, and using a loopback doesnt work :-\
-
Are you moving to 7 with mixed xp environment?
-
Having a right nightmare, so anyone that can help, that would be great. We have an RM CC3 network and im currently going Vanilla. Got our 7 machines working with GP great, just used a WMI filter. Cant do the same for some of the older machines, because they need to run XP. So currently they are inheriting all of the CC3 policies, because I cant move the users until all of the computers are off CC3. I tried using user loop backs on individual OUs where inheritance is blocked and replace mode and merge to try and override the CC3 settings. Each time, non of the settings are carried over (trying to set drive maps and redirected folders), if I do merge, it looks as it should, if I use replace it gets the desktop icons of the local all users folder (rather than redirecting it) but then doesnt map any drives or printers. I ran gpresult for the test teacher account on an xp non cc3 machine and get this error: User Configuration Policies Windows Settings Scripts An error has occurred while collecting data for Scripts. The following errors were encountered: An unknown error occurred while data was gathered for this extension. Details: Not found Administrative Templates An error has occurred while collecting data for Administrative Templates. The following errors were encountered: The .adm file "\\*********\SysVol\*********\Policies\{3875E870-AEB4-44C0-94D9-7A35D4828650}\Adm\RM Windows 200x User Policies.adm" is in not in a valid format and must be replaced. Details: A value name is expected before line 1641. Is this stopping the loopback working? Is there another way to stop the policy working and only to follow my new one when using vanilla machines? Thanks

Let me know how you get on.

Yeh, I didnt think it could be a driver issue but clearly it was. Not sure what to suggest? Contact the card maufacturers and see if they can shed any light on it? Or try using an XP driver?
-
I LOVE YOU! How did I miss that?

Had my first hickup. Users profiles arent so roaming. Only for students, staff works fine. Application log gives this error: Windows cannot copy profile from C:\Users\09eggintond to \\hhs-sr-002$NOCSC$\RMStudentProfiles\Year 9\09EggintonD.V2, you do not have enough disk space. Which suggests there is a quota (there is plenty of room on the drive). To be fair for students, its not a massive issue. The students have the relevant permissions to the folder and it makes the V2 profile folder. The only quota I can find is in the RMMC, but they are far from the limit. Any ideas? Thanks, Marc

Guys, you are amazing. It was the driver. Grabbed the one from the Yukon site, and all is well in computer land. The new driver gives an extra wake from shutdown option. Never thought a driver could effect it while it was switched off. Crazy. Thanks for your help.
-
Yeh, true. I didnt think about the driver changing something on the card, but that makes sense. The thing that doesnt make sense is that a room with the same machines, but with Intel E1000 cards in, doesnt wake on those cards either. Will all the relevent bits enabled. The onboard cards in the ones im really having problems with is a Marvell Yukon 88E8053.
