Wins 7 Home Premium with SP1 64 bit Trying to obtain this for a repair on an Acer All in One machine Tried it form an official Microsoft Site and typed in the product key and it says "You must obtain the disks from your equipment manufacturer" or words to that effect That would cost 20-40 uk pounds There were downloads from digital river, but I can't find that anymore Any other places ? Well what I did was create another user and copied all the data from the old to new minus the ntuser files BUT I did note the profile size for that user was 630 GBs !!! So maybe you were right - how could you fix that ?

My mistake It is not an image, it is a normal file backup folder that I am seeing on the usb drive - of course, vista doesn't do images of the whole hard drive... Duh?

I have a system image on a usb drive I need to use this to overwrite a vista install that won't work. Using the recovery environment, and choosing complete PC restore - it doesn't give me the option to navigate to the usb drive and choose the image Using command prompt, I can navigate to the usb drive and list the contents Any ideas ?

System Restore from RE says it is unsuccessful Done chkdsk /r on both partitions in RE There is a PQService sector which I tried it on, but is reported it was an unrecognized file format, although I am sure it said NTFS Repair says it cannot fix any problems (many times) Wont boot in Safe Mode SFC says it cannot run as there is a Repair Pending (deleted all Pending Files in Winsxs) - no good Taken out disk and done HDTune for bad sectors - none Checked it for viruses this way with Security Essentials - none Clueless
