Whats the difference between L01 and L02 on screen specs Thanks
-
When you say Reimage - do you mean a Fresh Install I have cloned the drive onto another to "mess" around with it, so I don't cause any possible non reversible issues with the setup they already had....

Win 7 64 bit Sp1 Got called in to fix a printer issue Turned out that things had gone wrong 2 weeks before when the theme had changed - tried a system restore - no good. Services.msc won't open - nor will Default Programs Ran Malwarebytes - found some malware - removed sfc /scannow - found stuff but couldn't fix it Tried a Repair Reinstall - came back with an error Used Tweaking.com Windows repair to reset permissions etc etc No good Is there something I missed ? Thanks

I think I tried that a few times in various forms 2nd time it said port 10001 was taken, so I did 10002 etc.... Tried ipconfig /all to see if the printer came up to check the ip address - nothing Why isn't this easy ??
-
On the old xp it was 192.168.1.67:10001 Tried it to no avail. I am out of my comfort zone on ip set up though.

Done I reckon the RE I was in was from the dvd, so typing bcdedit /set {globalsettings} advancedoptions true at the RE command prompt enabled the startup settings from the hard disk to work - safe mode etc still did not work so at the bottom, it said F10 for more options which gave 1 option to press 1 for Recovery (I thinK) computer restarted and the ordinary Startup settings appeared again (as the bcdedit... was programed to), so as I thought this was not the real deal, I clicked Continue to Windows 10 - this brought up the proper menu to Reset This PC Which worked I might have missed out a piece of the jigsaw puzzle, but in effect, that was what happened Thanks
-
Didn't think F8 worked with Wins 10 ??
-
Yes, thanks - I tried that and "said" it completed successfully - it was at the X prompt Another query - if a computer won't boot, how do you initialise the built in RE ? Its an Acer
-
Why is Startup settings missing from Recovery Environment I have a laptop that wont boot because I suspect the owner has been installing loads of crap - maybe even 2 antiviruses. I am booting from a wins 10 dvd and am wanting Startup settings with the view for choosing Safe Mode or Disable Antivirus settings on startup etc All the rest seem to be there - - Choose a device - troubleshooting - Startup repair - system restore All of which fail to remedy the problem Normal boot just reveals a blank screen
