I upgraded from an activated win 8 to win 10 via media creation tool Sadly it says windows needs activating even though it is connected to the internet I have used the telephone activation system before on another machine, but cant find it now Thanks

Sorted Put HD back in old laptop - started it up Switched off Bitlocker Put HD in new laptop HAPPY DAYS Cheers !!!

I am a techie who is trying to dig myself out of a hole Client brought a dell foldable laptop to me with the corner of the screen lid coming away when opening and closing as the screen hinge was stiff.... But in my examination of it I unfortunately CRACKED the touchscreen....... Looked online - only replacement screen available was £500..... SO - I ordered an exact replacement laptop and took out the hard drive out of the old one and put it in the new one in the hope it would fire up normally SADLY Bitlocker raised its ugly head I guess there is no easy way around it..... She had 2 accounts on the laptop, so which MS account will she have to log into to HOPEFULLY get the key ? OR is it the Bitlocker account of the previous user I bought it from that it is looking for ?????? Any advice appreciated, as she wants it back for UNI in 2 days 😱 Thanks

It was an old Dell - 2.9ghz with 512mb ram Heavy as hell !

Having bother with blue screen after cloning So there is a 1tb drive in a laptop (working fine) Took it out and put it in a caddy connected to main computer Used Todo Backup software to create a file on my hard drive of the backup Took out the hdd from the caddy Replaced it with a 256 SSD which was formatted with GPT (as is the 1tb) Used the Browse to Recover to clone the file to the new SSD Opted for Optimise for SSD Backup took about 1 hour Put back in laptop - Blue Screen...... Any suggestions welcome, as I think I am not the only one... Thanks

Just tried another screen and lo and behold, it displays Asus logo on startup while on battery.... Screen at fault...... and not windows Cheers

No Nothing Asus logo/Post/Bios does not appear when on battery, but windows is loading in background

Just noticed that if I shine a light on the screen while in battery power, then I can see Windows in the background.... External VGA monitor also picks it up on battery power ok

Please redirect this to another forum if not the right one Currently running W10 1709 in the Virtual Machine Hyper-V part of my main W10 20H4 I need to get the Hyper-V version to be able to recognise a USB dongle to import VHS tape through USB for saving to disk I can't find any method for the HV version to recognise USB Dongles (not disks) PS - the usb dongle is not supported in the new version update of W10 I did also read of a usb network device that may be connected via ethernet - but it went over my head.... I believe you still have to enter a password in RE to make changes .... ? Thankfully the old password has been found, so problem over Cheers

Trying to fix a computer by loading it into Safe Mode by ticking Safe Boot in Msconfig Previously logged in via PIN Now when loading Safe Mode it wants a password which has not been used for a long time and forgotten Now What ??!! Thanks
