Hi All, I've googled this to my hearts content and there seems to be no webpart which will allow my users to upload a flash a video then embed it into a Wiki! I was hoping someone may have done this... Fingers Crossed! Cheers DK

Hi All, We have a dilemma at our school... we are having more and more requests for students to have additional space.... which we want to meet! However the issue is... we are quite a large school and to accommodate the increase in file quotes we would be talking about TB's of Data... how on earth would this be backed up...? If we were to use tapes it would take days! If we used NAS/SAN that would be on-site which would leave no redundancy if something happened to the school? Has anyone found a solution to this problem? Cheers DK

My "How to" Guide on Installing Moodle on Ubuntu 6.06
darknova replied to darknova's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Why would you be reading the noobie guide on the server? How would you get to edugeek to get the file without a browser, which you need a gui for? Why have a color screen on the server if the command line is in black and white? Why have a mouse attached when you can do everything using a keyboard? Why am I wasting my time, writing this... You give people a little something and this is the thanks you get -

"How To" Guide for installing moodle on Windows 2003
darknova replied to darknova's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
I totally agree... However, as I'm not used to setting up a Windows Server as Web Server. I would normally use Linux for this, as Windows isn't the most secure OS on the market. I was looking for some help and support on how to setup and secure the windows server.... Hence the reason why I asked for a "How To" Guide... Thanks for your constructive criticism -
"How To" Guide for installing moodle on Windows 2003

I was thinking about that, but it said for Testing only! As this setup is not very restrictive, security is out of the window... Thanks all the same. -
Here comes the noob question.... Any ideas where I would specify this on the Gateway Policy? I have specified the 128bit Encryption on the network policy... but this negotiates the use of NTLMV1 not V2. I suspect that I am authenticating to the gateway using NTLM... which is causing the issue... but I can't see where I can specify which sort of connection to negotiate using NTLMV2.

Hey All, Just polishing off my Terminal Server 2008 setup and have left this issue to last... I'm trying to get my clients to use NTLMV2 to authenticate, however they seem to be only authenticating to the Gateway using NTLMV1... I have setup the computer I'm using to test the RDP connection to use Security Policy: Send NTLMv2 response only/refuse LM and NTLM However it seems to be only Authenticating Using NTLM... so I went onto the Terminal Server and setup a Network Policy Constraint to use Authentication Methods of (MS-CHAP-V2) rather then Allow Clients to connect without negotiating an authentication method. However when I do this I get the following error: The user "domain\testuser", on client computer "10.1.1.40", did not meet connection authorization policy requirements and was therefore not authorized to access the TS Gateway server. The following authentication method was attempted: "NTLM". The following error occurred: "23003". Currently a user will go to the gateway, which will then authorise the user to access the terminal server. The gateway checks the users details using a radius server, then the network policy is applied... and then the user is logged on… (At the moment only using NTLMV1 ) Any Ideas…? DK

I've tried Google and found other Event Log Managers, the two i mentioned above are the front runners from my web trawling... I was just wondering if Google had missed some...

I'm looking into a few solutions to centrally manage our Event Logs... I've been looking at Spiceworks... It's OK but produces very basic reports: but it is free. Then there's ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer 5, it's a nice solution... bit pricey Single Installation License Fee For 10 Host Pack: $995 Is there any other software which is worth a look? Cheers DK

Default TS Web Access as Default Site in IIS7
darknova replied to darknova's topic in Windows Server 2008

Hi All, I thought it would be as simple in IIS6... but it wasn't Can any give me idea where I'm going wrong: I've set the HTTP Redirect on the default site to: https://mysite.com/ts Restart the whole IIS Services and it still displays the same default site! I've checked if the redirect works by going to http://mysite.com and the same page is still there even after a reboot. All I can find is information from last year on how to enable this HTTP Redirect Service. Can Anyone help? Cheers DK

Hi all... I'm a complete noob and tried looking for an answer and simply couldn't and got stuck. Would it be possible to force all Terminal Sessions to go via the TS gateway, even if I don't use the Web Access. For instance, I want my polices to apply even if a user enters into the Terminal Server Client the name of the server... such as ts.myorg.com Where as at the moment... it simply allowing them straight on the terminal server even thou there is a policy which: Denies All access for this user and all times... I suspect it's because there a member of Remote Users... but every time I take them out they can't access the terminal server for a session and asks for them to be put back in there!!! Help!

Hi All, I would love to provide a feature where I could map network drives using moodle. I've looking into Samba Web Client... but this seems to be a per share basis. What I'm looking for is a free Ranger-Outpost, for moodle.... How do other schools share their networks shares over the net? Regards DK
