    Thanks for alerting us to the problems with the Spiceworks web site and Community site on Tuesday. We did have some internal issues early morning that impacted the site but it was fixed early in the morning here in the US and everything has been running smoothly ever since.     Greetings edugeek-ers! Just wanted to pass on the good news that Spiceworks 5.0 is now officially ready for download. After a lengthy Beta process to iron out any bugs or glitches and two Release Candidates, the new software is available to all IT pros and sysadmins. I assure you that the wait was worth it as the official release boasts speeds up to 50% faster than previous versions of Spiceworks! I want to thank you all for all of your support, reviews, blog posts, and discussions over the last few months that really helped raise anticipation and excitement for our new release.     Curious how you guys are celebrating SysAdminDay today (assuming you've even heard of it!) Here at Spiceworks, we threw a pizza party for our two IT masters and provided public thanks on the Community site. Share what your companies have been doing. And if it's nothing, you may want to remind the ones in charge that the IT guys hold your online lives in their hands!

While Spiceworks prides itself on its expanded (and growing) functionality, you never have to use any functionality other than what you need. Still, glad to hear Spiceworks was the inspiration for you to build your own help desk in house! mbird & Gibbo: Thanks for your feedback as well. I apologize that Spiceworks didn't offer the speed your organization required at the time. Speed is one of the things our entire development team works intently to improve with every release. I'm curious which version of Spiceworks each of you last used. For instance, Spiceworks v4.5 was 40% faster than all previous versions. And later this summer, Spiceworks v5.0 promises to be even faster than that. Feel free to give the most recent iteration of the software, Spiceworks 4.7, a try and see if you notice a vast improvement.
