Hi all, When attempting to upgrade Configuration Manager to version 2111 I am getting the following prerequisite error: [Failed]:Configuration Manager requires at least .NET version 4.6.2 for site systems, clients, and the console. To minimize disruption, before you run Configuration Manager setup, update .NET and restart the system. If possible, install the latest version of .NET 4.8. For more information, see https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2165437. I already have .NET 4.8 installed but it doesn't seem to be detecting this? I installed .NET 4.8 via the standalone installer so it doesn't show in 'Installed Windows Updates'. Has anyone else had this issue and if so how did you fix it? Thanks Steve

Yeah, we use Arbor so it's accessible from any machine. I guess I'm looking for arguments to feed back to 'get my way' ...... the right way

Hi, I'm the IT Engineer in school. The interesting thing about us is that we are a special needs school and the teachers often use the register as a means of engaging the students at the start of a lesson. In Arbor the pupils faces come up and the pupils names and faces come up when taking the register..... We have the same problem with the Plasmas with built in PC at the front of class. Thanks for your response. We have staff laptops which tend to be on a desk somewhere around the classroom so they are separate to the plasma at the front of the classroom so unfortunately output options isn't an option for us and nor is freeze My feeling is that the register should be taken on the staff laptop so only the member of staff taking it has access to it. Hi all, MIS GDPR question - what's your take on the register being taken on the plasma/whiteboard at the front of class. For me it's a no but I am receiving some pushback from school leadership/IT management. I'd appreciate opinions either way. Thanks

Hi All, Having some difficulty with the OSK in windows 10 on our classroom screens. As you all know in Windows 7 if you touch a text box/anything which requires text input then the OSK pops up and then hides again when you touch off the box. Not so in Windows 10 and after doing a bit of forum hunting I can't find a suitable solution. Typing OSK into the start menu every time it is needed isn't great and there are reg fixes to make it available in the taskbar. There is even an option in Windows 10 settings to 'Automatically show the touch keyboard in windowed apps when there's no keyboard attached to your device' - but what if I also have a keyboard attached? So there are semi-workarounds but no fixes So far I'm drawing a blank so any help would be great!! Thanks Steve

The solution to this was quite strange. I found that if I turn off the option to 'Set time automatically' on the phone the error stops. Maybe this is due to a discrepancy between Microsofts time service and the certificate time? Anyway its now resolved.

Hi, We are running emails on Office 365. When the head takes his phone home he gets the following error regarding his school e-mails: 'It appears that there's a problem with the certificate for outlook.office365.com'. When he is in school the error is not present. He is using a Nokia Lumia 630. Any ideas? Thanks Stephen

Hi, You can use group policy to specify what a new tab does ie. open home page. This policy 'Specify default behaviour for a new tab' can be found in User Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Internet Explorer. Thanks Stephen

Hi, In control panel>Pen and Touch>Touch I want to disable 'Enable multi-touch gestures and inking' but whenever I disable this, apply and return to the setting it is re-enabled. I have done some research and Microsoft suggest installing the latest version of the touchpad driver which I have done but with no success. This is the same on different models of laptop in different scenarios (both touch screen laptops and non touch screen laptops plugged into touch screen TVs). The reason I want to disable this is because we have children who are unable to touch the screen with one finger so interactive games are unresponsive or over-responsive when touched with the back or palm of a hand.
