I was using handbrake to convert MKV 1080P HD video to MP4 etc so reading / transcoding from original 10gb or more file size to an MP4 that I could use on my phone so I was effectivly copying from SSD to SSD It mattered to me ............... Haven't had an SSD for a long time now - which is a shame as it did make a big difference between a mechanical HDD and an SSD in terms of speed and responsiveness

That's good - although when I had a SATA 3 SSD ( 6gbs ) and was using it on a SATA 2 connection, I was only getting about 270mbps read / write ( give or take a bit ) and wasn't getting as much IOPS as I could have done had it been a SATA 3 Port / chipset that I was using it with. Think it was advertised about 550 mbps read / write roughly, would love to get another SSD such as the 840 evo or pro and stick that in my 2011 mac mini which has SATA 3, I bet that would make it fly !! I originally had an OWC 240 Gb Mercury Extreme Pro 6G similar to this ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/OWC-OWCSSDMX6G240T-Mercury-Extreme-Internal/dp/B0052UN7TY#productDetails ) Which I believe was only a 60k IOPS drive and was using it in a 2008 Mac Pro as my boot drive

@VeryPC One of you able to attempt something like this with the 840 evo or pro ssd's 24 in raid and see how fast it goes

Wasn't sure if Intel worked better with Nvidia and if AMD CPU / mobo combo worked better with AMD GPU's etc or as you say mix and match like its a lucky dip ??

With regards to graphics cards so GPU's, does it make any difference what processor you have so for example if I got an Intel CPU and a motherboard that supported an intel cpu ( regardless of what Intel CPU so i Core series i3, 5 or 7 or Xeon or whatever ) and then AMD GPU's Or visa versa an AMD CPU / Relevant Motherboard that supports the AMD CPU and then NVidia GPU's ? Will that have any bottle necks or does it not make any difference what so ever mixing and matching GPU's with the type of processor

I went to an interview and came out feeling exactly the same so I clearly need to learn a lot more. Would be good to know more about the things that both @sonofsanta / @tmcd35 and some others have mentioned. I know how to find the event viewer, however making sense of the random error codes and short messages that are in the event viewer etc must be an art in itself ( other than using google to google the error code / message ), I know basics of dns / dhcp as far as setting those set up and what they are used for etc but would be good to know more about both of these There was a lot of other items mentioned ranging from permissions ( NTFS / Share permissions ) etc etc and would also be good to know / learn more about the other items
