  1. Salary: £28,636 per annum Full Time - 52 Weeks Per Year Job type: Permanent Company: The Peele Community College Contact: Lesley Issott The Peele is a popular, oversubscribed 11 – 16 College in the market town of Long Sutton. We have benefited from an extensive building programme to meet the needs of the increasing number of students on roll. We are looking to appoint a flexible, hardworking individual to manage and develop the College’s IT system. Currently we use a mix of thin clients, PCs, Laptops and tablets to deliver ICT and curriculum content to our users. Our data centre is virtualised using VMWare and Hyper-V and consists of Windows, Linux and Solaris server operating systems. Applicants will need to demonstrate excellent problem solving, interpersonal skills and be able to effectively lead a team. It is desirable for candidates to have experience of educational software and networks. In addition, the College also uses many bespoke software applications written with PHP and ASP.net. Candidates must have some experience working with these languages and maintaining web based applications. If you would like further details and an application pack please contact Mrs L Issott, PA to Headteacher, or visit the College website, Redirecting to The Peele Community College. Closing date for applications is noon on Monday 26th November 2012. Applicants please note this post is subject to enhanced CRB clearance. This College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
  2. Hiya all Position not filled unfortunately. New closing date is 17th October. Applicants must have evidence of Level 3 IT Qualification. Cheers Ash
  3. Metaphorically speaking of course!!
  4. IT Technician Salary N Grade 5 Point 13 £19,254pa 37 hours per week, Full Time The Peele Community College is looking to appoint an IT Technician. The IT department is a growing department supporting a wide range of server and client technologies. The Peele Community College is very proud of the excellent GCSE results achieved in 2011 with 54% of students gaining at least 5 GCSE A* - C grades, including Mathematics and English. You would be joining a vibrant learning community at an exciting time in its development. The role of IT technician would provide first line support to staff and students at the College. This would include general support to all teaching and non teaching staff, and students. The role would also include working with the College’s website, expanding the Virtual Learning Environment and also recording and producing digital media for use within the College. Although prior experience in an IT support role is highly desirable, applications from individuals with strong creative skills and backgrounds, and with a desire to bring these to an IT support role in education, would also be considered. If you are interested in the above, please contact the College for an application pack. Details and an application form can be downloaded from the College website at http://intranet.peele.lincs.sch.uk/moodle/course/view.php?id=104. Closing date: Noon, Monday 19th September 2011
  5. Consider yourself told by @kmount ! Now go and sit in the coroner with a hit on and shot up! :)
  6. Do you have a link to a download or website, I'll check it out
  7. This works very very well on our network and we have some really old dogs of pc's running using it.
  8. You need to add the users to the release station admins Log in as admin, Options tab Scroll down to: Hold/Release Queues Add the users you need to the text box and separate with a comma Then when the users go to http://server:9191/release it should work nicely Cheers Ash
  9. Hiya I write software called S4L which does this. Its built around SERCO currently, however its not that hard to make it run with SIMS. All data comes from the database or csv's if you prefer and allows fine analysis of a whole cohort or an infinite number of user defined Identified Groups. My site is a bit out of date (I have a day job!!) but I can demo through MIKOGO too The Peele Community College: Peele Software Cheers Ash
  10. Just rember who pays your wages
  11. We have NTLM running on our Ubuntu, Apache, Php setup that gets ad credentials and then you can check groups etc from then on in. I will go into further depth if this suits? Cheers Ash
  12. Hi Kim You could get Steve Jones to make you a scrolling image script and run it on a desktop server and output it through a sunray. For £30 on ebay you could get an iPod dock and play your music live and with infinite control! :) Ash
  13. Hiya I am writing a bit of software for exactly this reason. It monitors the home drive every time a user logs in. This is done with a client msi deployed via group policy It then has a web management server that displays reports to the admins on how folder sizes have changed over time. If nothing else is around for you I would be happy for you to test this basic version as your need is great at this time Cheers
  14. Yup, Spiceworks will definitely do it, another good one is openAudit.
  15. Also, for a great LDAP class that you can use for all LDAP connections, visit: adLDAP - LDAP Authentication with PHP for Active Directory
