  1. Depending how big a banner you want to print you may be able to print on a photocopier, some of them can do banner printing, ours does upto 297mmx1200mm. it does fine for displays and big posters.
  2. We use School Asset Manager. It's cheaper than WASP, they provide pre-printed labels, UV markers & Lights, it deploys to iOS and Android devices as well as a hosted web management system. It's pretty good, as with WASP there are bits of it you won't use but the reports are pretty good and they are always adding features and stuff, worth a look!
  3. If you're still struggling for a free solution may i suggest VLC Movie Creator basic but easy to use, or the new windows live essentials Movie Maker, basically the movie maker replacement. I think they have released a new version this week too.
  4. we use photoshop elements with Y6 kids up to around Y9, after that we move them onto photoshop pro CS4 (we're never up to date with Adobe products) Elements is ridiculously easy for anyone with any photoshop or image editing experience, once you learn which tools do what and ow to tweak the effects and layer options there really is no stopping you. Photoshop pro is just a less friendly interface that brings a lot more tools and options to the table.
  5. Clickview is a great teaching tool, not only can it serve video files, in a network friendly way, it can give access to resources specific to certain videos, create lesson plans involving videos, audio, images and documents. There are a vast array of videos available through the exchange, and media store. It might not be the best fit for all schools but if you have a large collection of video resources its definitely worth at least a look. The hardware can be a bit pricey for what it does, the 24/7 and live boxes are very useful but not worth the cash in my opinion. The whole thing is designed for schools, so from a teacher POV its great, easy to use, search and can even edit and export videos for use on VLE's and powerpoint presentations. Also finally, the support i've had from ClickView has been beyond brilliant.
  6. We currently support our mac laptops in-house with any major work taken on by apple or local reseller and support specialists KRCS. They do have stores nationwide i believe so they may be worth a look. Also if you buy from RM you can get support through their usual support channels.
  7. Is the XServe the only piece of maccery you have for sale?
