Are the schools on different domains?

We use the Sites functionality for Governors - they can upload and share documents that way. Pretty secure.

Can log on now ........ Cannot access Sites - One Drive seems ok.

Have you tried making the Sassoon font the default font? I have just had to install this font and provided the school with the instructions and they seem to be happy. They are using 2010, so I am not sure if this would make a difference?

Older versions of IE try and block downloads and you have to click a bar along the top of the page, but below the File, Menu etc bar. Could be that?

Microsoft have nixed Clip Art I am afraid. They want you to you Bing images or something similar, such as Google images.

Latest update from Capita: SIMS SQL 2014 - Important Update Slow performance issues in SIMS after migrating to SQL 2014 26/03/2015 What’s the issue? We are aware of some customers experiencing slow SIMS performance after migrating from SQL server 2008 or SQL server 2008R2 to SQL server 2014. What do you recommend? We have had further feedback relating to our suggestion to place the SIMS database in compatibility mode 110 (SQL 2012 mode) using patch ID 20580. This fix has not been effective for all customers. We are advising anyone considering a migration to SQL2014 to postpone it until we are able to confirm the issues and offer further guidance. Customers can still choose to migrate to SQL2012 as a supported platform. We are continuing to investigate the issue with Microsoft and we will provide an update as soon as possible.

We have always been told to never admit any pupils until they have arrived at the school -"bums on seats" is what we advise.

But the issue that the school have is with Clip Art in Word/Office 2010.

If only. In Word 2013 it has gone, and although you can select it in Word 2010, nothing is displayed, only what is on your local PC. Wjhen you try and follow the link to Office.com from within Word, it takes you to a page unavailable web page.

With the removal of Clip Art by Microsoft, what are techs advising schools/teachers use instead? I have a very irate Headteacher who uses the functionality a lot. Within our team the suggestion would appear to be Bing Images, Google Images or something similar. Would be interested in hearing other peoples experiences.

I would believe the info that Discover says it is on (7.158). I am surprised that Discover client 7.154 works though!! We are on 7.158 version of Discover for our schools, as this is the summer release version. I believe that 7.159 was the SIMS summer version 2, and not all school needed it, mainly secondary schools.

Client Version is too old, it needs to be upgraded to 7.158. When I have had this issue I have uninstalled the client and then reinstalled the most recent (7.158) as I have had problems trying to upgrade across more than one release level. If you leave the client release for the Autumn, I think you will have the same issue as the client will then be 3 levels distant.

Parents are contacted using InTouch (texts, e-mails), they have access to school webiste/Learning Platform, letters from the school, parents evenings. The school will use specific events (e.g. school musical) to promote other areas of interest to parents as well.

The tech at one of our schools had this yesterday after uninstalling SQL2005 (he had upgraded to 2008 the week before). He reported that he got it working again after reinstalling SQL Server Native client.

Soulfish. I work for a local authority who provides SIMS support and training. On support side, we provide support via the phone and remotely support. We also have a training team who provide a wide range of SIMS training. Would you like further information?

I also had a problem this morning. However I have also found that a piece of software that we run to connect remotely to schools was impacting our connection to SupportNet. The software that we use is CentraStage, and we use this via IE. We have found that running Centrastage and SupportNet in different tabs through the same IE instance was impacting our access to SupportNet. I now run SupportNet in its own IE instance and from my perspective this has made things better.

I can get on to SupportNet, but whenever I try to create a new case, review or update a case, I just get the message: The Application has encountered an error. The Web Support Team have been notified. In the meantime, please try logging out of SupportNet, close down your web browser, delete all temporary internet files and cookies, and try accessing Web Support and Case Log again This needs sorting out!!

In the Green Abbey test database, there is a report called Previous School in the Student folder. Could be what you are after?
