  1. Does anyone know what could be causing this... It freezes on this screen but only when I reboot it? It is a 2016 mac mini, around three months old. A custom Apple build - not one you can get at retail. Has boosted ram and SSD. Running latest OSX with all updates installed.
  2. Oh dear, our managed wireless system has decided to fail during the summer holidays. It is just over six years old so time to get changed. We had looked into alternative options and RM had provided me with a quotation for a Meru/Fortinet solution for £16-17k. Can anyone suggest some alternative companies who are able to quote for my school in Greater London as I need three quotes and would like to see if my quote is competitive. Another option would be to go with a Ruckuss solution.
  3. Thanks, Apple got back to me with almost the same but they said top Right which threw me. I finally have what I need, have submitted to our supplier. Let's see what happens. Thanks again for your help. Note for any prospective Apple iPad purchasers, buy these well in advance of when you intend on using them as Apple can take a VERY long time to get back to you with answers which will make you doubt if they know their own systems.
  4. Hi, YES I do have an account on there which has far more info, but I am still unable to find DEP Customer ID or an area to add my reseller. If I click on my name on the top right, it just shows my Managed Apple ID. In my MDM servers section of Devices I have one server which is our MDM: Lightspeed Systems. Do you have any idea how I can add and get the nececarry deatils on this new platform? I have emailed Apple for a fourth time today and still no answers. We currently have no land line in the room I am working in and no mobile reception so I can't call and be on computer at same time. Thanks again.
  5. Peter, Wow, yours is entirely different to mine! I had better send Apple another message. It seems as though something is messed up with mine. Thanks for sharing this. Kind Regards Robert
  6. Peter, Thanks so much for your post. I have gone to the DEP portal but unfortunately, I don't seem to get the options you describe on the right hand top drop down. All I get under my name is: Send Feedback and Sign out. On the left hand side collumn, all there is under Deployment Programmes is Admins. In the manage admins section, I have two admin vpp accounts: One for the account I am signed in under and another for my personal email account. There is no option to add a reseller/retailer. Rob
  7. Hi there, I have got to say, the customer service I have experienced from Apple really is just shocking. Two weeks before our summer holidays, I purchased 16 new iPads from our reseller. I would like to have them added to DEP so that I can configure them correctly through our MDM subscription. My supplier has tried several times to pair our purchase with Apple but has been unable to do so as the customer reference number I am providing him with is not valid. He is unsure what information I need to give him and Apple don't seem to know what information I need to provide him with. Does ANYONE know where I can find the information that my supplier will need in order for them to add my purchases to DEP? Here is the last message my supplier sent me: We always seem to have such problems in setting Apple products up. It is really starting to put me off of the brand.
  8. Yes it does,..a sample below:
  9. Hello, looking for a little advice. We have a Server 2008 R2 running Windows 7 (couple of 10) stations. We use Scholar Pack for our MIS and recently, have found that some of the reports it generates, which download via Chrome are not opening correctly. Upon closer inspection, I noticed that the files (.xls) are being blocked by the host os. It doesn't appear to do this with any other excel files, and I note also that these are in an older format. We use Office 2010 and 2016, whereas these files are in the older xls format. At present, the only way my users are able to correctly open these files is to right click each one, open properties and invididually and click unblock in General. The message next to unblox says: Security This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer. Can anyone offer me some guidance on how I can create a GPO to overcome this problem?
  10. I had high hopes for this, all of the commands went through with no issue, but no same problem, when it boots, it says: Non-System disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready.
  11. Thank you, will give this a go tomorrow.
  12. Unfortunately not. This is not an RM system, it is my own vanilla workstation. I never installed an RM build onto it, the USB rm build disk just ran to the authentication stage, but never installed anything.
  13. Thanks, gave it a go but I get: Startup repair couldn't repair your PC. Press advanced options to try other options to repair your pc. I tried Reset this Pc but it says: The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again.
  14. All of the commands worked other than /RebuildBcd which came back saying: Scanning all disks for Windows installations. Please wait, this may take a while... Successfully scanned Windows installations. [1] C:\Windows Add installation to boot list? Yes(Y)/No(N)/All(A): I selected Yes and it said, The requested system device cannot be found. Re-tried and went for All. Same error again.
  15. Thanks, already went on to it before you replied. Just doing a chkdsk /f C: and then I will try the three you recommend.
  16. The build disk was not working on my test machine, that is why I re-inserted it into my computer ready to sort it out, but time got the better of me. The system I use very rarely reboots in the evenings. You suggested repair from vanilla Windows. Do you mean literally putting in my Windows 10 USB install drive and running through the repair options on there, if it gives me any? It is not CC4, it is just a stand alone system that I use.
  17. What an annoying scenario. This is not the first time this has happened either. RM asked me to create a USB build disk to use on some of their RM one systems which refuse to network boot to our server. I created said USB disk using their instructions and tested it on a test computer, it would not work. I reported back to RM and put the USB drive back in the computer I work on ready to continue with whatever instructions they sent. In between yesterday evening and today, the computer has rebooted for Windows updates and when it did, it successfully ran the USB drive which put it into RM Build Mode. Obviously, the build didn't start, and when I came in this morning, the computer had picked up an IP address from our RM server and was waiting for authentication details so I could select an image and build the computer. I closed this and switched it off - nothing has been built and I did not log in. Now when I boot my computer, it says: GPT-formatted disk. Legacy boot not supported. Press any key to reboot. What can I do? I am unable to get it to boot back to Windows. Wouldn't mind but this is the system I use and has all sorts of software on it I would struggle to find again.
  18. Thanks, that did the job
  19. Hi there, We have mac integration on our RM CC4 network. I have an iMac I would like to add to the network. The RM guys installed and configured Deploy Studio and I can see that a boot image is listed in the NetInstall part of OSX Server. When I switch on the iMac in question, I hold down the N button which I am hoping will bring the device into Netboot to connect with a compatible network server, but no, it just boots into OSX. Am I doing something wrong?
  20. After another reboot, it seems to have worked. Thanks for your help.
  21. It didn't give me an option to chose, so not sure. Where could I check this? Have re-booted and attempted to open WSUS again and it seems to be stuck on this screen:
  22. Things are not working out all that well. I removed WSUS from Server Manager, bounced and then re-installed. It reinstalled without any issues, however when I opened it for the first time, I now get the following error box: Post-installation Notifications The post-installation task failed. Please see below for details:
  23. Hi, sorry think I missed your original post. Have taken a look but kb3148812 was not installed and this fault happened at exactly the same time as when I made the subnet change. Will try removing and re-installing WSUS as advised on here. See if that resolves the problem.
  24. Couldn't see anything that looked out of place. Starting to get worried now as both workstations and servers are unable to get any updates.
