We moved to a Hyper V environment a few year back, with no problems.

Hi were running Home Access plus+ ( which is a great product) and were trying to remove the right click option for rename,delete and move in the extended version, we've managed to remove this from the 'Basic Version' by deleting the Delete and the other Thanks in advance.

hi Pooley I've been quote around the £9-10 mark per Cal. Other option is the Home access plus + addon for iis7, if you can get it working. cheers Darren. -
Hi Bio the eventID codes are Directory Service - 1645,1925 File replication - 13508, 13565 yet no issues when installing another 2003 machine? Thanks again.

Hi Bio Any idea's why this would be an issue?, I thought the schema changes when you go through the dcpromo stuff. It seems weird, 2003 machines connect & replicate with no problems. Thanks again..

Hi All I'm having few issues getting sysvol to replicate after I dcpromo a server 2008 machine into a 2003 domain, but having no problems with replication if I dcpromo another 2003 machine into the domain. I have noticed that the link folders within Sysvol (2008 machine) are incorrect, and folder linking path is incorrect, but 2003 is spot on. I've changed the paths using HardLinkShellExt_win32.exe, to rectify the link folder problem, but still no replication..... help:confused:, Any idea's? Thanks in advance

In the end, I went down the virtual route using Hyper V on 2008 R2. which, touch wood works well. Thank you all for your advise

we did an upgrade on 11.5 before this happened, could that be it ..... mm. if so any ideas on how to repair it ?

Hi all I've installed a new 2008 R2 HP Server into and exhisting domain and over the Easter Holidays we've had a power cut and nothing's working as it should. 1st thing that happened is sysvol replication problems, which hopefully is now resolved. 2nd AD replication problems, which is also resolved (hopefully). But now the startup scripts seem to run Intermittently and when using remote dekstop i cant access some of the servers using the server name, i have to put in the IP address or the .domain.local after the name to gain access ( which looks like DNS problems) to which i'm stuck on how to repair. Any ideas? help !! Thanks in advance

Thanks for the advice , in the end i purchased a HP Proliant ML350 G6, with 12gig of RAM, 2 x 2.4gig E5530 quad core SFF processors and 4 x 500gig HDD. All i need to do now is decide on whether or not run Sims on this as a standalone service or a within a Virtual Server.

Hi all Our School is finally looking to get a new server for hosting Capita Sims Software. We have around 250 teachers which will be using this for lesson monitor, and eventually connecting to the net for parents to view the children's grades. What sort of hardware are schools using for this application and what problems have you had in the implementing this? I've had a talk with another school that are using VMware to host there SIMS, they say that this works really well, what are your thoughts? Thanks in advance.

hi all I'm running Symantec ghost v11.5.1.226 and for some reason in ghost console, machine group, defaults, it's duplicating the clients from anything from the one to 100+ using the same mac address and name adding (2,3,4 and so on) Any idea's? Thanks in advance.

Is there a way that this script can close down multiple pc's and without entering the machine into Dos. Thanks in advance.

we can install the batch file (installing the exe) on the machine manually, but not via group policy.

it doesn't look like there are any switches, it's a installation exe. It runs when i click the bat file, but not when using GPO.

it worked ok on other upgrades, but not this one.

I tried to run the bat file using GPO, but still the same problem when logging on as a teacher. It wont update Sims.

We upgraded Sims (v7.126) a few weeks ago, and all of our users are unable to update to the latest version unless logged in as an Administrator. We don't want to give all users Admin rights for obvious reasons, has anyone else seen this issue? Any help appreciated.
