Same thing here too, full rollout of 600 Win7 SP1 machines and randomly sometimes they go back to CTRL+ALT+DEL instead of shutting down. Problem occurs on different hardware, board manufacturers and chipsets (AMD and Intel) and generally rebooting the machines and trying the same sequence again works fine.

Windows 7 32 bit - Activdriver 5.7 via usb to serial cable Trying the above setup with the latest drivers and software. We're using Keyspan USB to serial adapters as the machines don't have serial ports. Device manager shows the Promethean Serial driver and Serial board, the USB COM port is listed in ActivManager but it will not find/connect to the board itself. I've selected serial support in the activdriver installation. The keyspan adapter is working and shows up fine in device manager. When I get Activmanager to search for the board, the light on the USB2COM goes nuts, so it's "barking up the right tree" so to speak. We have this issue on 40 whiteboards with the same setup! Tried the usual uninstall, reinstall, reimage etc. I'm now short of ideas! Anyone have a fix or a workaround?

Hi Bluetooth I think the sophos console getting stuck and refusing to update randomly is actually a sophos issue. I get the same problems when trying to update via a proxy direct to sophos. I do agree with the silent upgrades and changes though, should be advertised when something changes which is going to affect schools in the grid.

Our RP services have been up and down for the last +48 hours now. it's reassuring that something's being done about it, but is it making enough of a difference as all I can see is that it's now "hit and miss" instead of "miss and miss"? A few more questions: Is there a way we can prioritise some services over others, for example our VLE and website need to be accessible more critically than our MIS. Would we still have these issues if we hosted our website elsewhere? Obviously, it depends on the host's service level but with regards to DNS still coming through YHGfL. We can only do this with our public website as all of our other services (VLE, email and MIS) are all LDAP integrated. I'm looking around at various different school's services/websites. It appears to me that it's the Wakefield ones that are down. Calderdale and Hull RPs are all up as far as I can tell. Is this right? I'm aware of a data centre move at some point in the near future (calderdale?), will things improve with the new data centre or is the architecture going to be the same.
