  7. hi all, just thought i would post and say i highly recommend and like Draytek Network Equitment..... it just works .... simple as that .... also there tech support is very very impressive, i had a couple of questions about some fine'er details of High Availibility on there Draytek 3300V router/firewall, and first person i got through to after just <2 mins on the phone knew the answers i was looking for..... i have been using Draytek stuff for 2 years now and its very very good... A+++++++++ please feel free to post your experiances with draytek stuff to as mine have been positive but let me know......
  8. hi there i have not forgotten about this post i will post a config shortly which should work for you. for the time being go to :: Thinstation - a light, full-featured Linux thin client OS :: and build a new bootable CD and make sure you only have rdesktop ticked , on display drivers make sure all are selcted the same for network drivers etc.... on the last page customise the config file with your IP etc ... if this does not work then use then copy and past in the config file, which i will post for you shortly.
  9. yes i am, not sure if the forum permits it, if not i will remove it.

  12. Hi All, not sure where to post this, but i have written a very simple script to pop the DDI and CLI on screen and send it to a webpage which then populates some simple fields and can enable a call center agent or message taking company to take calls and pass them to there clients. like i said its only basic but i have provided it here for you to download... http://www.p-web.co.uk/downloads/Simple_Call_Scripter.zip Simple video demonstration here [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D3XHaFH9RM]YouTube- Call center script and screen popping proof[/ame] it uses the ASTassitent to get the DDI and CLI passes it on to the script i have written and then passes it to a formtoemail form to email the client you are taking calls for. i have already deployed it to a small call center, but this script can be adapted to work with a MySQL database to produce billing etc.... i have provided some instructions in the read me, if you get stuck please post.....
  13. just thought id come on here and say thanks to Computer Products Ltd for excellent service and support, unlike other suppliers out there i am able to talk to CP over MSN which makes it very easy for a sysadmin like me to order parts and supplies when i need too, all the products i have ordered so far have turned up the next day some times before i get to work, which is a nice change. Keep up the good work Joe!!
  14. Many Thanks for help on this, i have contacted both Smoothwall and Bloxx and requted eval from both for testing.
  15. hi all, i am interested in the Bloxx webfilter, i currently use Untangle and am looking at Bloxx as it appears to be better, does anyone currently use it, if so, can you provide feedback on it etc.... there website is Bloxx | Web Filters | Internet Content Filtering Products Many Thanks
  16. hi i have xenserver and the best practise is to have 2 xenserver's running with a storage SAN/NAS. providing both servers are the same add them both to 1 pool and add the storage to the pool, i use NFS, but you can use iSCSI etc... create your VMs and use the storage device as the harddrive, then you shouod be able to move VMs from one server to the other "Live" and still use the VM server while downing the physical server.... please email/PM me if you need more help as i have finished my testing of Xenserver and am building a production enviroment of 4 xenservers and 2 storage devices 900GB each using Openfiler.
  17. hi thanks for the advice however i think openfiler only has the ability to act as a Rsync server. now on buffalo tera station pro's theres an option to back up an entire share to another buffalo and set a schedule so i wander if the openfiler people will be introducing this .... i might suggest it on there forum.....
  18. hi all, i was just wandering if any one has experiance with Openfiler. i want to have 2 servers confiured the same have raid 5 in both servers and cluster OPenfiler in such a way so it Mirrors raid 1+0 IE if one of the servers failed the other can take over... so 2 servers raid 5 and the servers configured in a raid 2 configuration for redundancie?? does any one know how to achive the above ? Many Thanks in advance.
  19. hi, i use to have all of these problems too, untill i used the website to build my files and ticked all the drivers for every graphics drivers etc..... i installed this on a laptop and it boots up in 1024x768 and auto reconnects, the big thing i had was when on a home network it was still looking for a TFTP server and took 25 mins to conenct over a vpn, however i now use AXEL thin clients and everything is fine... if you want help configuring ThinStation let me know .....
  20. this can not be changed, i was using this on some laptops both in the office and and for remote workers, untill i found the AXEL thin clients.....
  21. hi all, i have tested the above at lenght and vnc'ing to my terminal server and putting 1 after the ip does not let you on to the users session.... if i do 1.2.3.4 i get the console if i do 1.2.3.4:1 i get failed to connect if i do 1.2.3.4:01 i get failed to connect the above test is on a fresh win 2003 server with terminal services and ultravnc installed... and 3 users loggs on console, user A, and user B. i can conclude from this test that it does not work and the only way to provide remote support is via Right click remote support in TS and shadow in citrix.... please feel free to correct me if im wrong.......
  22. Hi Have you tried Citrix XenDesktop? with this you can have numerouse desktops, which after a user logs in can run a desktop on a server, such as XenServer. the advantage of this is that you can give a user loads of desktops IE, Win 7, Win XP, Win Vista, Unbuntu and the user can just click in to which ever OS they want etc, or just have one of them auto run at start up .... i have plaid with this in detail but on on 30 trial software.... also there is a XenDesktop version thats free for 4 Desktops IE Virtual OS's, basically the PC starts up and you then ALT TAB or something in to which ever OS you want .... etc.... Let me know if you need any help with this as i love XenServer, XenAPP and XenDesktop... i mainly love XenServer though.... lol
  23. Hi All, i am virtualising my network and just wanted to share with you all my intended set up, i would like comments and suggestions on this... we are a call centre and our Agents just take calls so thin clients are good for them, our Admin staff for now will remain on Desktops (HP DX2400) i have 14 servers which i will be moving to a virtual enviroment, the servers are Domain controllers, exchange servers, TAPI server and call scripting software servers, SQL Servers etc, these will also be moved in to the virtual enviroment. i plan to use some of our HP G5 DL360's as XenServers (4 of them), and have 2/3 servers with 6 x 300GB drives in, 4 on raid 5 for VDI storage and 2 on raid 1+0 for ISO storage using OPenFiler as NFS Storage, i will also be creating 6 Windows XP Machines with ThinStuff installed on for the agents to connect to with the AXEL Thinclients, i have run some tests and this should be fine for the agents. i would like to place the admins desktops in the virtual enviroment to, some day, but dont have a big budget etc, hence openfiler etc.... are there any betters way of doing the above, and comments suggestions ...... i dont have a BIG budget, if i said i could spend peanuts then even this would not be true etc... LOL what do you all think?????? go easy .... lol
  24. Can i just say my company has just purchased 10 of these and i / we love them. My Set up, windows XP Pro machine hosted on Xenserver and i have ThinStuff installed on the Win XP machine and have 10 users connecting to the XP Pro machine both in the office and at home via an IPSEC VPN. i have also plaid with the AxMenu and love this too.... its what i have been looking for.... HIGHLY RECOMMEDND THEM!!!!
