  1. Morning, Installed and got HAP working through IIS 7.5, although it is very slow. Initial login screen appears quickly, but once I try to authenticate it grinds to a halt. Once logged in as an admin some of the tiles are missing, such as the control panel link etc. I did a bit of digging around and it would appear the issue may lay with the AppPool (as we have other websites using AppPools that are suffering the same symptoms of slowness). I followed Nicks instructions to set UsageMode from Quota to None, with no results. Is there anything you can advise, be it with HAP itself or IIS? Thanks in advance, Dan

  3. We are currently in the process of deploying teacher laptops and have run in to a roaming profile issue. We currently use a mixture of folder redirection / roaming profiles throughout the school that works flawlessly. The issue arises when the laptop is taken off-site; our group policies state to keep a cached copy of the roaming profile but it doesn’t appear to be working, along the way the local copy of the profile is removed. This is how it works: 1) Laptop has wireless coverage, logs on as user and correctly loads the user’s profile. Shutdown 2) Power on laptop, again laptop has wireless coverage and logs on correctly with user’s settings. Log off and disable wireless to simulate being off-site, reboot 3) Log on laptop as user with wireless off, everything appears fine, profile loads as normal with correct user settings, message is displayed that a locally stored copy of the profile has been loaded due to not being able to access the server copy (obviously because we are no longer on the network so this is correct, I want it to loaded from cache if off network). Log off; turn wireless back on and reboot. 4) Log back on to the machine, loads a temporary profile, even though we are now back on the school network. Under C:\Users the cached copy of the profile has mysteriously disappeared and the only way to get the machine to load the profile again is to delete the entry from the registry under HKLM\…\Windows NT\ProfileList How can I resolve roaming profiles on mobile devices? Any advice will be greatly appreciated!

  14. We all wear them here now, aswell. It's proper basic - Just a standard laminated print. Nothing fancy, although we were considering getting a proper card printer but it was gonna be far too expensive.

  18. 'lo geeks, We've got a program that we use which allows users to log in through the website and browse their unique share for files etc. Our old server (2003) died on us, and we switched to 2008 R2 standard and now running IIS 7.5. All is working fine apart from when trying to downloading files with spaces in the name. The URL is changed from: Generic File Name.zip to Generic+File+Name.zip We need a way in IIS to change the + to %20. Can anyone please shed some light on how to do this? Thanks in advance, Dan
  19. sorted, we managed to recover it from System32. We've got another problem now. We need to recover the printer list from the server, but have no idea how... we don't think this is even possible. We can't get into the OS.
  20. Okay, so I've come into work just a week before we go back and our DHCP server is nackered. We're wanting to take the C: drive out, plug it into another computer and recover DHCP like that. Can anyone tell me the lcoation of where I can recover DHCP from? Thanks in advance, Dan

  22. I have seen this issue, and am pretty sure it was driver related. Only solution I found was to remove hard drive, get it plugged into a desktop (if its SATA, happy days - IDE you'll need a converter) and just back everything up. Format the bugger/reinstall the OS.
  23. Pah, good luck trying to get them to use something else than what they've been told to use. They complain enough as it is! Thanks for your help though, Vik/everyone else - will post an update as and when our support gets back to me!
  24. Yes this is correct. They aren't assigned classes/timetables as they are administration staff. Major headacheeeee!
  25. All of our servers are named after starwars characters Vader, c3po, bobafett, r2d2, yoda, cantina. Best one is Jabba, for our catering system
