1. We require the monitor in the staffroom and the office based staff to be able to update information on it, is this capable and also what PC/hardware would you recommend to hook up to the monitor. Is there any web based solutions also out there?
2. Many thanks guys for info. Has anyone got any info on Xibo and how to set it up/configure etc. Thanks
3. Hi I have been asked to look into getting a solution in the staff room where by staff can see a diary of the week digitally instead of having to write onto notice board all the time. Something like a 50" screen but I am unsure as to what software/hardware to run this from. Can be a networked option or just standalone. Any idea guys Thanks

HDD Password

Hi Some little blighter has set a password on the HD of 2 dell inspiron 1012 mini netbooks. I have called dell and they gave me a code which was no good. I attempted to image the drive from a good netbook but cant get passed this password protect. Even swapping drives into another netbook was no use as it is on the drive itself. This is the password for the HDD and not a bios password. I dont wont to have to replace drives if possible and would be greatful if anyone can help. Thanks
5. Hi John, sorry it would help :-) I am based in East London. Thanks
6. Hi All Thanks for the feedback. I have an update and is follows so hopefully someone will help with choice or recommendation of projector. 1. The distance between the lighting rig and the wall where screen will be is approx 20ft 2. It can be mounted to the lighting pole as it has electrics already up there 3. The distance for the width of the screen can be a max of 10ft wide with a possible 8ft drop. 4. We would require an electric screen, projector and cabling to a faceplate that would include VGA/HDMI/AUDIO run to the corner of trunking as seen in picture above. Based on this could anyone recommend ideal equipment and someone who can install this and a rough guide on cost as I believe a tower would be required as no loft hatch access. Thanks
7. Hi I have been asked to look into sourcing a screen and projector in Hall. Anybody have any recommendations of which projector to use, short throw or ceiling mounted. I attach some pics of hall for ideas. Thanks
8. entered the details as you suggested and put in the public IP (it has a /exchange at end, do I need that?) also the domain ends .local again I have entered that. It then verifies and gives a tick against it all. I then go into the mailbox on iphone and it says cannot get mail, the connection to the server failed? Thanks
9. the one I am testing is 2010 but there is another of 2003

17. Hi Guys Just set up new W7 PCs on a 2k3 server. Mapped drives work fine but for the life of me I cant seem to work out how I can change the documents folder to be pointing to the users home directory on the server eg \\servername\home\%username% it is just pointing to c:\users etc. Eventrying to save in word the default is local and I need it to be network home or shared drives. Thanks
18. SMTP Connector address
19. Yes they are both on 255.255.255.0 sub I am not onsite to try but I will have to link the switches together to be able to communicate with each other.
20. I have been asked to connect the curriculum photocopier up to the admin PCs so that they can all print to it. The curric IP address is 10.240.10.* and the admin is 10.240.12.* they are both on the same subnet. If I set up a trust will this work or is there another way to do this. Thanks
21. Thanks for help guys, it turns out that they failed to tell us the new smtp connector address and was still pointing to old one and they finally switched that off. All up and running again thankfully
22. 1. When did this change take place? The change took place over the summer holidays and all was Ok until this week 2. Do you have a different smarthost that you have to use now? I have not been told to make any change to the smtp connector although I dont know why as this is still pointing to synetrix who have released everything to atomwide 3. Do you use DNS to send email or smarthosts? how do I find this out? 4. Are your PTR records setup correctly? do I need to add anything here or leave as was 5.SPF records? ?? Thanks
23. Our DNS and ECC have just recently been transferred over from synetrix to atomwide, would this have anything to do with it as smtp connector still set to outbound1.equinoxit.net We have not changed any settings at all on the server
24. Exchange 2003 6.5sp2
25. ran test and said outbound smtp was succesful
