If you play multiplayer: get what your friends have got. If you don't: get the one with the nicer controller, in your opinion. Personally I've always hated the PS controller, from the first to the latest, so I'd get the Xbox. Seriously, you can't do anything without the controller, and if you can't deal with the goddamn stupid crappy analogue sticks on a DS controller (cough), then get an Xbone. The graphics difference between them really won't amount to much in the long run, I expect. Although actually what I've done is get a 5m HDMI cable for my PC with 360 controller, but that's not this discussion.

Outside shots, taken under trees if possible. Lots of green makes a photo look good, especially in terms of portraying a nice image for the school, and the leaves will diffuse the sunlight nicely for you. Other than that, I'd say crouched down to the height of sitting students, looking down a line of them at a 30 degree angle, focused on the nearest one filling the left/right hand third and the rest blurring out as you go down the line. Get em looking at their books or something. Those are the kind of images that work really well for websites and prospectuses, as you have lots of negative space to overlay text.

They're collapsed now where they weren't before - there's a little black down triangle next to the "Office 365 Education E1 for Students" (or whatever) that shows the other boxes.

I'm not sure if that intro (of Al shouting SPEED DRAAAAW) will haunt my nightmares or fill my dreams. I'm so confused right now.

I've seen the video, and a couple of photos, and it is terrifying. The momentum he carries into the back of the tractor is incredible. It's natural to want to find a way to stop it happening again and to find someone/something to blame, but I really think it is just one of those incredibly unlucky moments that you can't guard against. If you want to definitively stop high speed crashes, the ony way to do it is to stop high speed racing. It can't have been that wet as drivers were coming into the pits and changing onto new inters, not full wets, so I don't know what Massa was screaming about. But as @plexer says, none of us were driving that track; we'll never really know. I fear that, even if he does recover to consciousness (and breathing on his own is surely a good sign), he'll never be able to race in F1 again, which is an enormous tragedy for him and us.

You must have misheard him. I'm sure he said "when SP1 is released for it and all the launch wrinkles are ironed out". Although to be fair, Win7 was in good enough shape long before SP1, but I'd still always wait at least 6 months to a year for someone else to do the guinea pigging for me.

Hospitality account for guests, same as in the old days when it was written down on a bit of paper but easier cos it can all be pulled off as a report against the hospitality account after service. For people like invigilators/peri music teachers that want to use the canteen but aren't employees, we create an account on the cashless system alone and take their fingerprint. The only limit is that they can't use online payments, but we have a reval machine to take cash.

That's why I'm so frustrated. It was so close to being one of the real greats, like Blink - a metaphor made real, a monster in the cracks of real life and something we all experience, so many great explanations ("Sometimes it feels like there's something behind you, so when you're in bed, it feels like it's beneath you, that's all it is") - but I was waiting to get an actual explanation that never came, and so I was left thoroughly unsatisfied. It wasn't just the bed, either - what breached the atmospheric bubble at the end of time? The noises you can explain away, but not all of it. I think maybe Moffat's time has ended - my favourites of his were the long arcs, I actually enjoyed the long Amy/Rory/River plot - but they backed away from that after people complained it was too complicated (okay, maybe a little bit) and so we're stuck with all these episodes where they try and neatly tie it all up in 45 minutes, and it's hobbling them. Most of all, I miss River Song, though. She was a strong character who stood up to the Doctor, and that brought out some of the best moments. It felt like a different, better show when she was about.

See, I'm not rating this current series at all. I think Capaldi is great, actually a bit alien and stand-offish and arrogant, and certainly something different from the Tennant/Smith "hey, kooky!" vibe, but I think the writing has been atrocious. There's been some decent concepts but no care taken with them. This week: where'd all that extra mass come from, then? Cos the thing's growing? Based on what? If I grow, I need to eat food to fuel that, and that's not that efficient a process. Conservation of mass isn't a difficult idea, yet they couldn't even get that right. And the plot! The whole thing revolved around the Doctor being a bumhole. He could've gone in, said "oh yeah, it's an egg, it'll be fine, honest!" but instead he decided - after fifty years of nothing but intervention - that it's not his place to intervene and humanity should decide for itself (well, not humanity; town councils with the power to turn off the street lights for the vote). If a story relies on a character acting in a way not consistent with that character, well, it's not a story. Listen: great concept, great opening, and the bit in the kids house with the thing on the bed was some of the creepiest Dr. Who there's been in ages. But then at the end, it turns out to have all been in the Doctor's head. So, er, what was the thing on the bed? Cos it looked kind of alien, and if it was meant to be another kid winding him up, then no-one saw the door open for said kid to come in, and any other kid would have completely bottled it at the point adults were involved. The One With The Dodgy Robot In The School: alright, fine, you need to deal with this weird robot thing. Do you really need to pick a school as your battleground? With all those innocents around just asking to get in the way? Really? Robin Hood: actually pretty good as these historical-figure-shoehorned-in episodes go, but the end was ridiculous. "Oh noes not enough gold to fuel the engines quick fire the golden arrow at it I'm sure that a bit of gold stuck to the outside is perfectly usable as a fuel source nevermind that they were having to melt everything else down into a mould earlier on." If you want to end like that, design the ship so that the engine is a big glowing orb or something and fire the arrow into that. It's sci-fi! Invent the facts to suit your purposes! I'm also getting tired of the "robots clever enough to fly across space but not realise when their ship will explode" trope, which Who has used a few times (The Girl in the Fireplace had a similar brand of Really-Cool-Looking-But-Idiotic Robots). I don't much like Clara as a companion tbh - Amy&Rory 4EVA - but I'm so frustrated by the writing. If they spent another day or two on each script, spotting the obvious plot holes and actually thinking "hang on, that doesn't make sense" it'd be so much better. Who has always needed a large dose of suspension of disbelief, for the dodgy effects if not the dodgy "timey wimey" explanations, but this isn't good enough. I'm also bored of that bloody Victorian Sontaran. That joke is worn thinner than the CGI budget. [/rant]

Right, time has run too short to do anything clever/funny/take any photos - the joys of implementing a new finance system that was misconfigured by the consultant - so I'm going to have to go with the "plain and serious text that won't win a damn thing but should be said anyway". Most useful thing in my office: my technicians. I think I might be the one in this office who pulls his weight the least and declares "stuff it, that'll do" the most. Without the thorough, conscientous and reliable work of t'others in here, I really wouldn't stand a chance. I've been almost entirely absent this last fortnight as I sort out the mess with the finance system, abandoning all my other duties and my office on a regular basis to prioritise that, and I don't think anyone else in school has even noticed. It's all just carried along as normal, to the remarkable high standard that I get to take credit for. It's a wonder. And not a one of them spends any time idling on here like I do, so I'm just saying it for the sake of saying it, knowing they'll never read it. Here's to teamwork

Yes I am/was - and I've also noticed people's avatars not loading today. Some people's are collapsed and showing the alt-text; refresh the page and the problem shifts to someone else. Seems less like an issue with individual files and more like something to do with all the fancy Amazon shenanigans, perhaps?
