It could be any of a number of things - that error covers a lot. Check your Event Viewer, System and Application logs, and you will find more information there. At a guess, though, it's either not enough disk space (unlikely on a newly imaged machine) or permissions on the roaming profile share (Domain Computers needs access).

So, time to confuse myself and mess with my head: we'll find out if Philae has landed at 16:00 GMT. We're on a half-hour radio lag, so you could say it's landed now. But what does now mean? If there's no way of knowing due to the limits of the speed of light, does now have an absolute meaning? What is "the present moment" in a relativistic Universe? What is "the present moment" at all - is there an indivisible unit of time, a Planck moment, or are we forever living in the past, evaluating what has just happened? How do we know we're not destroyed and recreated at every moment, complete with memories of a supposed existence that has led, causally, to this moment? In other news, the Philae lander uses only 8W. Cool!

Surprisingly, only £283.29 on Steam, according to my Account page (https://store.steampowered.com/account/store_transactions once you're logged in). Man, I have done well at sales. That's not including money spent on Humble Bundles or retail games, mind. Considering I've been buying PC games for what, fifteen years, the real value is much, much higher. Plus money spent on consoles and games - PS3, 360, Wii, PS2, GCN, DC, N64, DS, Gameboy, all of which I still have - we're well into £5k territory, not counting money spent on building PCs. And if you start factoring in how much my parents spent on subscriptions to Amiga magazines for me back in the day (at one point I was getting Amiga Format, Amiga Action, Amiga Power and The One every month. Lovely, lovely coverdiscs!) then it goes up even more. But considering how much enjoyment I've had over the last twenty-five years, since I first got that Amiga, and that all those years tinkering is what's led to this career, I'd say money well spent. I reckon it's still cheaper than photography as hobbies go.

Our internal and external domains have never matched. There's no need at all for them to match, and given that no-one really sees your internal domain name except you, why risk breaking anything? New external address is easy: purchase the domain name from a reseller of your choice (GoDaddy, whoever). You will have access to DNS records for this domain where you can create lots of A records, as @Norphy says. SSL cert: instead of getting a wildcard certificate, you can get a UCC certificate that allows you to cover up to five/ten/however-many-you-pay-for subdomains in one certificate. It's not quite as flexible as a wildcard, as you're limited on numbers and everytime you add a new service to need to update the certificate everywhere it's used, but it is cheaper than a full wildcard cert. We use one, and the only time it's changed is when we installed HAP+ and needed a new files.school.org subdomain on the certificate.

We were with RM for a while, moved away. I always found it hilarious that to request a DNS change on school.county.sch.uk, an email from said school.county.sch.uk domain wasn't proof of authority to request the change; instead, we had to fax a letter on headed paper. Because, y'know, we keep our headed paper a secret and don't send it out to hundreds of people at a time, but we hand out email addresses like sweets at Halloween.

DE:HR's ending was rubbish - it was literally "press the button for the ending you want!" You didn't necessarily have all the buttons available unless you'd done certain tasks, but it was incredibly inelegant. They'd obviously run out of time to implement it properly. STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl strikes me as closer to the ideal. SPOILERS but it is like 7 years old, c'mon. There was a set of false endings, that most people got, where you reach the heart of the zone and have your wish granted. That wish depends on how you've played the game - I had a load of credits, so I got squashed by riches, there are four others depending on various outcomes from earlier on. But the real ending required you to follow a seemingly optional chain of quests from early on in the game, gaining you access to another room near the end that leads you on to uncover the real secrets of the zone. And it's quite a list of quests you have to follow, hoping that no-one has been killed by AI dogs along the way. More here. Brilliant stuff, that game.

Nothing here AFAIK, despite the school being over a century old. But having been in the school more or less on my own, in the dark, waiting for the power to come back on after a big outage so I can bring the servers up before the morning... it is difficult to maintain cynicism in the darkness. I stopped shining my torch into empty classrooms through the door windows after only a couple of minutes, my imagination was getting the better of me!

The same old "love will save the day!" trope was silly, again, as it is every time they use it on the show. But I did love Missy - much more madness showing through the cracks, and really felt like an equal of the Doctor. Definitely my favourite version of the Master.

I think that, like 3D, it is going to vary greatly from person to person. I get on with 3D, and I get on with Google Cardboard (which is fantastic, btw). My eyes do get tired with the latter, but I suspect that's because the Nexus 4 screen is relatively slow and low res compared to what a full OR headset will be. By all accounts each new OR DK is an order of magnitude better than the previous, which is the main reason I want to wait for the consumer version - it should be brilliant by that point.

We allow it with one important caveat - we've only unblocked one Art teacher's page, so the only page students can access is her moderated area, rather than giving them a free for all. This means she can pin useful/interesting content there and know that students can see it, and we know that kids are wandering the dark and dodgy corners of the site. Requires a bit more work from her but she has no problem with it; YMMV.
