This is the quick fix to use while you learn what's actually going on Technical explanation & caveat: landscape mode tells the camera to use a smaller aperture (which, confusingly, is a higher number, like f/22) to keep more of the shot in focus. Portrait, conversely, tells the camea to use a wider aperture (e.g. f/2.2) which is what's giving you that really short depth of field and blurring the background - because that's exactly the effect you want when taking a portrait of a single person. But because landscape is forcing that smaller aperture, less light gets in, SO your exposure time goes up to compensate which means you need to take more care with camera shake. You'll be absolutely fine outside, but even in a well-lit sports hall, you'd be surprised how dark that actually is to a camera because your eyes will have adjusted to the lower light. TL;DR: If you're in landscape, try taking photos with and without flash, and trying to rest the camera on/against something to steady yourself.

Building a PC really is just advanced Lego these days. It's laughably simple. I find it almost anti-climactic to have spent days and weeks looking at components and making selections and planning builds and imagining the technical heaven I'll be in and then... it's all done and over in under an hour. Depends what you're doing; unless you specifically need 32GB of RAM for lots of VMs or video editing, you'd get more benefit from the i7 with 16GB. But if you're only gaming, save the money and get the i5 with 16GB RAM.

Yeah it has - two intakes right behind that door, behind a dust filter, with a 140mm fan pre-installed there are vents at the sides (just behind the door) for it to draw air in. Next time I build I'll either get that or the CM 690. Not a fan of the over-the-top gaming styling either, be it flashy LEDs (so annoying in your peripheral vision) or ridiculous military get up; I just want something slick, quiet and not oversized. With cable routing. I hate not having cable routing.

Yeah, hinged & foam-padded door; the R4 is built around being silent. We used that case to build the recording PC for our music department -- I've been thinking about mATX for my next build actually - given that I will never ever dual-GPU again (too much faff & driver pain), I can't actually think of any downside to an mATX motherboard. There are hardly any nice looking cases specifically for mATX though Fractal Design's are about the only decent looking cases at that smaller size IMO.

You don't need a full tower E-ATX - those things are massive. Your motherboard is normal ATX, so a mid-tower ATX would be the right size (i.e. a normal computer case, not a monstrous server-size case like those ones). Er... what? You hate controllers cos the buttons are always in the same place? What do you do, unpick all your keyboard keys and re-arrange them for every different game? Or if you're complaining that similar games use similar control layouts, then do you remap WASD everytime you play a new FPS so you can have a new layout every time? The 360 was the best thing to happen to PC gaming in a long time because it finally gave us a standard controller. Strategy & FPS need M+K, but I hate hate hate driving games on a keyboard, tapping the A and D keys to get just the right amount of steer... urgh. I'll play with whatever works best and makes the most sense, same as I will with Smash Bros and Mario Kart on the Wii (i.e. get the GameCube controllers out, seriously, WiiMotes are terrible for those games).
