Hi Bizzel, Thanks for the info on the ident client. I have another question about smart cache, in "RM SmartCache Security Configuration" there are different logging levels: (1) Enabled without security (2) Enabled with security (3) Disabled I suspect the enabled without security logs but will not inforce user/computer level security setting (everyone gets the default policy). My question is, if i enable "Enabled with security" and i have any users without the ident client will smartcache give them the default policy or will it simply disallow them any internet access at all ? I have been attempting to install SCCM. I have got it installed and setup software ready to deploy. However I am having problems getting the client to install. I have tried the client push method and deploying the MSI that come with SCCM but collections is failing to see anything. How do you get the client to work correctly? What are peoples experience with this software? Is it overly complex or am I missing something? Thanks Andy

Hi All, I have been researching a way to make Outlook Web Access the default mail client. I have found the following registory key, but it dose`t seem to work. Has anyone got OWA to work as their default mail client? (without using ActiveSend) I need this to work for mutiple users so i can not hardcode username, and of course %Username% will be taken as Username. Do Mac logon scripts run with root privileges or do then run as root? The reason I am asking is I have managed to write a script that will map a student home directory but it depends on the users id. Hi, I have been experimenting with getting user folders to map onto the desktop. As far as I can tell Mac OSX is unable to map subdirectories of a share directly. I think this is because the mount command is not capable of mapping subdirectory. So to get round this I have been attempting to mount the share all users are stored on then using : mkdir /Volumes/Users mount -t cifs //Server/Users$ /Volumes/Users Then getting the users name using id -u -n | read -d @ Username (This gets the users username delimited by the “@” sign) Then create a symbolic link from the user share to the individual user’s home folder ln -s /Volumes/Users/$Username/ /Domain/cvs.lan/users/$Username/Desktop/MyDocuments Full version: #!/bin/bash mkdir /Volumes/Users mount -t cifs //Server/Users$ /Volumes/Users id -u -n | read -d @ Username ln -s /Volumes/Users/$Username/ /Domain/cvs.lan/users/$Username/Desktop/MyDocuments This unfortunately does not seem to work correctly . I have been able to get workgroup manager to add a drive mapping on the desktop for the general user share eg. \\someserver\usershares$. But I want to be able to add the home directory of that user eg \\someserver\usershares$\%username%. Is there a %Username% equivalent on mac osx ? If not has anyone got a simple script that will map a windows share using the current user’s username? Also I am using admit Mac which is meant to be able to cope with user home folders being on a dfs, the problem is we don’t use the home folder information (as this is done with my doc`s redirection) and so admit Mac can’t map it, any ideas ?
