5x Computers & Monitors in Adeptias combo Desk | eBay 5 x Adeptias combo Computer Desk with Monitors For those that haven't heard of these solutions before they are 5 computers in a pentagon which are embedded in the desk. The screens rise out of the table along with the keyboard and mice leaving plenty of room to work on the desks when not in use. Access to the computer can be gained by lifting the lid of the table which can be locked. The computers can locked so they cannot be turned on/off as can the screens (up/down). Computer Specs: Pentium D 2.8Ghz 1GB DDR2 80GB HDD DVDRW + card readers built in. 17" 4:3 TFT screens 4 of the 5 computer work fine while the 5th does not post. However we have an spare (untested) computer for this solution which we will include. The computers are licensed for Microsoft Windows XP Home, but will come with no operating system installed. We'll provide drivers on a CD Mice and keyboard not include. We believe these computers could easily be upgraded to modern technology with a simple replace of the motherboard/CPU and memory Please click the link below for more information regarding Adeptias Computer Solutions: Adeptias Please contact us via Ebay with any queries. Hi All, I have a network share with lots of folders and files with ownership set to different users and explicit denies set against the domain admins group (don`t ask). I need to move the files to a new server, the existing server is a snap server. I want to run a script to take ownership over every file and modify the existing rights. I have written a batch file (see below). The problem I have is that takeown /d y will strip out the existing rights on some folders. takeown /f %1 /r /d y icacls %1 /grant "domain\Domain Admins:F" /t > "C:\Logs\icacls.txt" Is there a way to preserve all existing user rights while taking ownership and adding full access to a certain group? Thanks Andy

atfnet replied to atfnet's topic in Thin Client and Virtual Machines
Good Morning, Thank you all for your replies. I would like to visit a few Schools to see the Wyse and Sun Ray`s in action. Is anyone near Bristol / Bath who can spare the time for me to visit ? Thanks Andy -
Hi Everyone, I am very interested in seeing a VDI deployed, more specifically Zero Clients with a VMware Backend. Is there anyone who is running this kind of setup and up for giving me a tour? I have been reading about the Pano logic and the Wyse zero clients, can anyone offer feedback on the devices? Are there any solution providers in the UK that specialise in VDI setups? Thanks Andy

[sims] SIMS Connection failed for Login USERNAME reason: 0
atfnet replied to tech_guy's topic in MIS Systems
Hi tech_guy, Had this problem last week every time I reset a password or changed permissions in system manager. As a temporary fix dismount and remount the database. Capita have a password reset patch but it corrupted our database and I had to restore from a backup. I am awaiting a new patch. Hope this helps Andy -
It sounds like you have back pressure , well your exchange server does. Understanding Back Pressure Regards Andy

Hi All, I think WE ALL need to make it clear the staff proxy and update proxy is not the way to go. The update proxy only has MS and SIMS and virus sites enabled, so any software that has automatic update will now fail, also we have no way of adding sites directly. I rang SWGFL and Vivki Gardrener (Managed Service Manager) and asked for a list of sites available on the update proxy... still waiting. I was asked for a list of URLs i would like unblocked to allow updating of software, I tried to explain this is a none starter due to the sheer amount of different software. If the staff proxy system used an inline url proxy username and password e.g username.staffproxy.swgfl.org.uk then I could at least update non standard software and do my job more effectively (I do understand this is less secure). If you are unhappy about the unfiltered proxy and the way it was switched off with no warning (well muttered about two years ago). Please contact Vivki Gardrener (Managed Service Manager SWGFL)[email protected] or phone 01392 381371 Thanks Andy

do bulldog or bethere use traffic shaping/ traffic filtering or port blocking ?
-
Thanks StewartKnight, ADSL24 look really good. Do you use them ?
-
Hello Everyone, Are there any ISP`s that have pledged not to introduce traffic shaping / traffic filtering. I am currently with Tiscali which has P2P traffic shaping and is generaly slow. I don`t mind paying extra and would like true unlimited downloads. It has to be ADSL, a static ip would be nice too. What ISP`s are you using ? How do you find them ? do they use traffic shapping ? Thanks Andy
