We had one do exactly the same, we were told it's a common problem as the board gets older, I never did get a reason why. This one was over 5 years old. We changed it for a Smartboard

They should have duct! Look!! Don't blame me - you were all thinking the same - I'm weak!!

We had this problem on a few machines and deleted the following registry entry HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate Rebooted the PC and 99% of them connected within 24 hours.

Many thanks - PM sent

Thanks - It doesn't have to be pro standard and I use the 360AFD at home with no problems and the lighting kit is so we can take decent pics of the students for parents and SIMS etc. Thanks for the link though - that one escaped my radar

Nice one Before I place an order - anything on the Lighting Kit?

I knew you wouldn't let me down

Is that a 'No' or 'We are working on it' ?

Chances are that it's something in the template but not had much chance to investigate.

One for the suppliers that lurk around these parts I'm looking for a decent Digital Flash Gun for a Canon EOs 450D something like the 360AFD (Jessops)- around the £100 mark and Studio Lighting - Interfit EX 150 MkII 2 Head Kit or similar - around the £200 mark Any of you guys help or recommed someone? (If our FO came into the modern age and allow me to order online it would be easy, but no, it has to be a PO via snail mail )

Ironically the electrical supply to the server room is being shut off for the weekend which means no web site, email or anything else! Even though we have sent warnings out via every means possible, what;s the bet we get a shed full of complaints on Monday?

Have a word with these guys Enterprise Security Solutions | Network Security Consultants

It may be worth asking the LEA if they are running a transition program. If not then set up a moodle site for this purpose, the accounts could be deleted at a later date. Birmingham are running one - Virtual Transition 2009

We use NTLM\LDAP for staff and students to see the full site, but hopefully 1.6 will give us the tool to split it further to staff only, student only etc. It's not really an issue at the moment so not really looked any further. SCGSG

Ignore him - he's telling porkies again!

And what protection are they providing you with to carry out this task?

Can I ask? ----- How old were you all before you realised you could take off your anoraks?

Here's a thought to add to the fire I see that there are a lot of valid arguments against a secure area but there will always be a call from some to have a secure area to discuss issues that they would not like just anyone to view such as difficulties with management or work colleges. Equally they would like to vent steam with colleagues in a similar working environment without running the risk of a particular area of the population either being offended or use the post against the individual. It could also be used for local consortium's to discuss local issues etc. So here's the thought! Why not have a personal subscription membership? OK it won't stop all of the above but it will stop the casual viewer or potential trouble maker from reading something that they either shouldn't see or use against a member. The monies raised could either go toward running the site or put to a charity. Personally, for the most part, I'm happy with the way things are but I have to admit that there have been a few occasions where a secure site would have been useful !

As al All Girls School we take whatever precautions are available to protect our students, if we could stop the taking of screenshots - we would We have a Google map available on the site and any internal downloads open as pdfs. In an ideal world of course not - but it isn't is it?

Just had a Thankyou card from the Chair of Governors, on behalf of all the Governors thanking the IT Dept for a "Superb" website. We would have prefered a pay rise but it nice to be appreciated (Maybe that will come when we complete the next stage)

We are using laptops but if you don't have enough then something like this [ame=http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-DEJ011S-CEQ-CD-Walkman/dp/B000NVWCWK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1240409994&sr=1-1]Sony DEJ011S.CEQ CD Walkman: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo[/ame] should be ok. The exam is on a CD which is sealed until the day so you won't have much time to convert it to an MP3. Even less if your exams are the same as ours and start 0900 on a Monday

The e107 cms site had a football theme I've attached a zip, maybe you can adapt it for joomla.

I agree with the above re the login box and darker text. I'm not a fan of the big headers but otherwise a nice site

This any good? Football Template XHTML CSS Web Template
