might be worth having a quick look under the car make sure brake fluid isnt leaking and that its full up in the resevoir before even starting the car, if it happens again just clutch and yank he handbrake and smack the hazzards... had a few hairy moments like this in my old renault but everytime i took it to the garage they said it was fine and no issues, i begged to differ XD

our aerial has mysteriously broken on the roof over our office, i really dont know how 8-) our kids finish at half 2 anyway so its just support staff left here...

yep for france you will need deflectors/spare bulb kit (needs to contain one of each for the car)/high vis on display (saves you being pulled)/and a warning triangle in the boot (to be accessable) just got back a few weeks ago so its still fresh in my mind... first aid kit isnt necesarry but id have one in the car incase tbh

ahhhh in that case its probs hdd or memory failure, is the installation CD one that defiantly works? had that problem a couple of times...

why not just re-install it with XP rather than the downgrade, will be alot faster than trying to find the issues...
