we have 3 different types of user each of which will have a slightly different start menu so i suppose folder re-direction would be the best option, do you know where the start menu folder is situated so i can copy it and create and 3 different menu for the folder re-direction?

thanks steve I have managed to get that to work, but their is no start menu do you know how i get the start menu and customise the start menu?

just started playing with windows 7 and have spent ages looking around trying to find the correct working way of creating a mandatory profiles and setting a customised start menu with out using sysprep, does anyone know of a link or guide that will explain to set this up.

I have spent ages with regmon switching to try and find the reg key but there are many entry each time, I did find a reg option to enable downscalingsupport but one of the subkey was never the same each time i imaged the laptop so no good doing it that way, "HKLM\System\currentcontrolset\control\video\************" the reason why i am doing this is because we have old projector that will only full screen at 1024 x 768 have tried a higher res on the laptop plug it into the projector and screen doesn't show full on the interactive board which is a issue for calibrating correctly

we are using osd.

using sccm but not building from wim image, building directly from the files on the windows 7 cd.

Hi First post here. We are currently rebuilding our lenovo R61i to run Windows 7 32bit OS, however we are hitting a problem with the display driver. We need to run the display settings at 1024x768, however after the PC builds we end up with 'Black vertical Bars'. This problem occurs if we use the Windows 7 PNP driver or the Intel 965 chipset driver (8.15.10.1930) The problem can be resolved if we go into the 'Aspect ratio' settings and set the option to 'Full Screen no border'' however we cannot get the laptops to default to this option, it always starts with 'Maintain Aspect Ratio' We do not get this problem with a Z61E. Any ideas on how we can get this to default?

I am looking at a way of disabling safe mode in window 7 we have always done it in xp and with a reg hack any suggestion other than software product nosafemode?

does anyone have a working unattened.xml file for 7 through sccm, as I have just created one and since I have added it to my sccm TS when the build reboots it comes back with bootmgr missing, if i take out the unattend.xml file it builds fine but with out my setting.

does anybody know why embedded animation that were done in power point 2003 and work no longer work in power point 2010?
