We pushed the print server (2016) to the October update yesterday and still having the same issue.
-
Looking at the USB option now. Not sure what we can do when the November update replaces them again.
-
Thanks, some of our laptops that have the same issue are not on the domain. Not sure if this would help, can we copy the files to this location?
-
Also seeing this. October update installed and printing stops. Looks like server reports bad username or password in event viewer. Anyone else getting this in event viewer?

Hi all, I need to allow some traffic out of a VLAN to the Internet. Because of how we are setup our Internet goes via a STUB network. Can anyone help me get the syntax correct. If I want to allow UDP traffic on a range of ports can I use something like 222 PERMIT UDP ANY ANY RANGE 2000 2500 Will this allow all ports between 2000 and 2500 or just the two individual ports 2000,2500? This is for Twilio parents evening software. The firewall has already been done by the ISP. Jim

I would be interested to know if anyone is starting to look at backing up O365?

I am looking at Barracuda cloud backup for Office 365. If we backup the staff we get the students free. I am looking for schools that would be willing to share what they think of this solution if you are already using it? Jim

Hi all, I am looking for some help. We use Trend AV with the cloud console and some of our older 6.5 clients are no longer updating to the latest client 6.7. The virus definitions DO update but not the client itself. Has anyone else seen or experiencing this? All Windows 10 1709/1809. Jim

Hello, We have discovered that our Office 365 Tenancy currently has its data "at rest" location as Europe. Is anyone else showing this and can it be moved to UK? Jim

Sorry typo, should have been 20GB RAM. The server has 20GB. When I do task manager on the server the CPU is 1-10% and RAM is about 13GB used. Thanks for your comments...

Hello all, We are having issues when our admin assistant is editing the pastoral system for next year. When we remove a tutor group and click save, SIMS locks up for a good 5 - 10 minutes and prevents users from logging into SIMS while the process is running. The process does complete and SIMS returns to normal. Until we remove another form/tutor group and click save, then we get another freeze. Any ideas anyone, all help appreciated. SIMS Server has 2GB RAM, SQL 2012, 2012 R2 VMware 1x CPU with 8 Processors allocated. Thanks Jim

Meru MC3200VE - Known as FortiWLC - Firmware upgrade advice
JScott replied to mbedford's topic in Wireless Networks
We had that when we went from version 6>7 and 7>8. The APS got stuck in a reboot loop. We had to run round and unplug every AP (100+) and they seem to work after that. We are now on 8.4-0Build7 (MC3200) and AP332i. What version are you on? -
Meru MC3200VE - Known as FortiWLC - Firmware upgrade advice
JScott replied to mbedford's topic in Wireless Networks
Hi, we have a Meru MC3200 and 100APs. We are having issues with a number of access points just slowing down and Windows Clients dropping pings. The APs then don't allow any WiFi traffic. As the issues you are seeing anything similar? We are on Fortinet firmware version 8. Jim -
We are still in the early days of Senso but the safeguarding logs have turned up a couple of incidents that we otherwise might have missed with our previous software, not because it was not logged but the Senso logs are really easy to navigate. I would ask Senso for a demo if you have not already. Jim

We did our Senso trial with Impero still installed and we have not had any issues so far. Jim

Hi, we gave up on this ages ago. We no longer take fingerprints for MLS for new users. We might start looking at alternatives soon. Any feedback or fixes you get Jay would be great. Jim
-
Hi, we currently have a Senso trial. Has anyone found any recent issues that would make them hold off purchasing Senso? We would be using it for logging/safeguarding, classroom monitoring but teachers and support, web filtering and keyword detection. Nightly shutdowns and WOL would also be a bonus. Jim

Senso cloud - Your thoughts?
JScott replied to SChurchill's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Also looking at Senso as well. Any feedback welcome. -
Hi, we are interested in knowing more about the next version of Impero which I am told is cloud based. I am also told it will get a big release at BETT. Has anyone seen it yet? Jim

Hi all, We have been assigning staff members Pro Plus for Faculty licenses from our Office 365 so they can install and use Office on home computers. However I have just discovered that when they do this it gives that home PC access to the staff members email, one drive etc without any authorisation. I did this by going into Word, Account, Manage Account. From here I can gain access to the staff members Office 365. Not ideal as it might not always be the staff member using the home PC. Any idea how we can stop this? Regards Jim

Was the server happy sitting on two VLans?
-
Ok, that's what I was planning to do. Was Cunninghams happy with the server being a VM?
-
Did you give them full admin access on a remote support ? If it is a domain joined server does that not give them a free hand?
-
Is that permanent remote access or just while they are setting it up?
-
Hi all, We are going down the cashless catering route shortly. Looks like we are using Cunningham's. After speaking with a few people about POS/tills and top up units. Did you just drop all this on your main network or stick it all on it's own VLAN? Jim
