  1. The BRC College site killed Flash player when I closed the tab and then took out FireFox. When I first arrived at the site it was totally blank, apart from 4 flash logos that Flashblock had thankfully trapped. As may have guessed I'm not a fan of Flash. I agree it is far too scrolly and intense. And yes, black is just about the worst background colour in my opinion.
  2. None of the above!
  3. My profile
  4. I have to agree with Geoff. Yuk. Or as our students say all the time... 'That's so gay!' Looks like you'll need to talk to the server operators, good luck with that.
  5. Good point, but we all know that kids never read MotD's anyway. We tend to use the desktop wallpaper for our announcements.
  6. I'd never do this... one thing I hate is a website that fiddles with my browser window size. I control my browser not the website designer. If I choose to have scroll bars that's my choice. Only thing worse than changing my browser size are sounds or music playing automatically.
  7. That sounds like it's possible your search isn't quite right. Download this LDAP browser and double check the containers etc that you're searching. It helped me fix a similar issue I had.
  8. That's a good point. I'd use LDAP* and use their username as the table name if individual tables are required. But really a pre defined table or tables would be the best way to go. I've just finished the first version of a survey system written is PHP and mySQL, it uses LDAP to find their username and store their results. The first refinement will be to look at group membership and only allow certain group members to take the survey. *LDAP is a bit of devil to get working, download this LDAP Browser if you're going to give it a shot, it's the best way to find out all the parameters for your AD.
  9. I agree with Friez and others who've suggested tables rather than databases. I'd say the teacher used the word database as a generic term, but didn't actually mean a unique database per student. Find out what the teacher want them to store and set up tables ready to accept that info. The other problem with creating a database in granting permissions to access it. That's probably why you can't create one programmatically. If you don't run the server, your ISP may have blocked you from creating a database. Also worth checking the mysql_error() after trying to create the database.
  10. I used to play Everquest, but nowadays it's WoWarcraft for me. EU Terenas Torhak & Toring, Self Preservation Society.
  11. Hmmm, what a totally pointless exercise.
  12. Yup, I can believe it, probably a Bot, using WoW Glider. Or some sad puppy who just has to be the first. 8) I've reported so many bots, thankfully they've all stopped appearing so it looks like Blizz do ban 'em. They'll very easy to spot and great fun if you can train 'em and they die.
  13. Is there a version that we can use on RM CC3? We have problems with account sharing when kids get banned.
  14. Our copies arrived yesterday from Amazon. Play.com were naughty and posted their copies out on Saturday so my friends copy arrived on Monday.
  15. Nabbed it to update our RM package, thanks.
  16. Yet a n other recruit after chatting to someone on the BETT show stand on Wednesday... did I win a printer?!?!? I'm an IT Technician at Kirkley High School, Lowestoft, the home of Rock Show 2.
  17. 'Ello there. I have a 60 Paladin and because the expansion has taken 2 years to arrive a 60 Warlock now on Teranas too. (Torhak and Toring) The whole family plays, wife and two teenage sons, 4 copies of the Burning Crusade is going to hurt. http://sps.easttown.co.uk is the site I run for our Guild. We've been around since day one of WoW, we were formed in Everquest.
