Did a job like this the other week for my mrs's mum the other day, fix the leak (might just be able to nip it up to stop the leak) then bleed each of the rads starting from upstairs. The small leaks cause air to get into the system and can cause an air lock so the rads dont even heat at the bottom on some rads. IF all your rads are stone cold then check the flow and return pipes going to and from the boiler, if possible down to the pump (just cos its making a noise dosnt mean its working). There more like circulators than pumps if you know what i mean. Also there will be a motorised valve probably somewhere near your pump that directs water to your cylinder for hot water or your rads for heating sometimes they can stick, there is a small metal lever that sticks out the left side that you can use to open the valve manually. you should see this move when u turn on off the hot water at the controls.

What kind of RAID are you running and over how many disks?

What OS are you running the scripts on and what model of dell machines? does system information bring up the serial numbers? I know we've had some shuttles bought from a company that had its own custom bios splash screen and serial numbers replaced with there company name which was a pain.

I'm doing oracle and SQL at college, I'll dig out the oracle manual for you if you havnt cracked it soon, thin the suggestions are right might need to tweak the syntax slightly for your version of SQL. I never knew until todays lecture that you could assign variables in SQL and other such cool stuff.

Its caused by dirty power from your alternator, I remember when i was a kid on the school bus we always had atlantic 252 longwave on and it would always go crackerly when passing under power lines lol. FM is frequency modulation as oppose to AM applitude modulation so its alot less susceptible to RF noise, your interferance could be caused by the grounding on the car or might be from the RF generated by the alternator. if you buy cheap car amplifiers they can whine or buzz too that change with the speed of the alternator, Mine did and i used a beefy high voltage diode out of an old TV between the ground connection on the amp, you can buy proper suppressors and if youve ever fitted a car stereo before you shouldnt have any trouble fitting one, but it might not solve the problem if its RF interferance affecting it, im no expert though, maybe the suppressors fit to the alternator grounding and might stop it? Ask in some Ford owners forums is your best bet.

I'll give you the script I use if it will help, it renames the machines from serials and then I use a batch file to add a start-up reg entry that runs another vb script upon reboot to join the machine to domain, its dirty and it wont reset the SIDs but its worked for me untill i get a spare minute to work out the FOG method. Rename PC based on serial; Join machine to domain; I'll stress again its not perfect and it might not work for all motherboards, but it works for the ones ive used.

are your workstations trying to upgrade before the error, think were having similar issues with 2 or 3 staff laptops. the upgrade fails throws an error like that then tries to use the old install but will not let you log in. I did write the error code down today but cant bloody find it im having a really rubbish fortnight :-(

on there wiki, the bit that I read said they had the AD or LDAP page but it didnt work yet, Think the wiki probably wasn't up to date, I didn't spend ages with it I moved to openfiler and found it much more usefull as it easily pulls in AD users and you can do adjust share sizes and such on a per user or group basis. Another reason I chose openfiler is because of the linux filesystem as oppese to the FreeBSD one wich im not familiar with and don't fancy having to learn about should the array fail and I have to recover data (although it will be backed up).

I used freeNAS and but found it lacked proper AD support, I moved to Openfiler, and it's great.

I wouldnt bother upgrading XP to vista as it can cause lots of problems. If i was you I would simply boot gparted disk make another partition and install windows 7, then transfer what files and setting you need via a usb drove or you could create a swap partition that both OS's can see.

I used clonezilla for the FJ laptops with my vbs and batch file to rename by serial number n join dom, its pretty good and easy to add to the fog pxe menu, will use FOG to image other machines though as Clonezilla asks too many questions.

Its difficult in the IT industry and with schools, as a volunteer would be great in theory but without giving a volunteer sensative information what is the that they can really do? If there not employed by a school then they dont really have an enforcable contract if they were to do something wrong. In todays world everybodys super caustious over liability, Thats why you have to wear your seatbelt when driving on your own, not because they care, because of insurance claims. Anyway If i were looking to get in to the IT industry, Id get as many qualifications as I could, Cisco, MCDST, etc, maybe some linux qualification, then look for work experience with a private company.

Can I steal your thread, as Ive done the exact same thing but still no luck detecting the 160Gb seagate drives in our Fujitsu Siemens Laptops, and I'm almost bout to give up on fog, IT gives the following error.. ata3.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x4) (fatal error detected: disk device not found when trying to upload image) along with other very similar ones when i run debug mode, and if i run fdisk -l it does nothing, I have tried the same thing on the desktops and it spits out the Disk info. Ive tried everything.. the BIOS dons't have an IDE / compatability / Native setting par se it has 4 different modes you can set the HDD as each with sub settings, but IVe tried everything and still FOG won't see the HDDs I've tried adding kernel arguments, acpi=off irqpoll which tbh I dont think are bieng passed on to the kernel, so i put them straight in the PXE.cfg default file, but still the exact same errors. Ive tried all sorts today, I also flashed the BIOS to the very latest version. My linux understanding isnt great, I know with these laptops SuSe II and ubuntu 8.10 will not boot even with default settings, the new G parted live CD and ubuntu 9.04 will, If my understanding of linux was better i could pull them apart to see what the difference is in the linux kernels. Is there anyway to to take apart the vmlinuz and or initrd and rebuild it either see whats enabled in there or repack it for FOG ??? I've got 30 of these bloody things to image before the kids are bk and as I'm only in half a week Its taken me ages messing round with them to no avail. Ill post more specs later, if you have any ideas please help..

I've set up FOG on my laptop and have another laptop wired with an ethernet cable to test it, i can now get to my PXE menu and choose from the options such as memtest, quick host registration etc, i was having a fatal error: hard disk not found error at work, but ive rebuilt the kernel (bzimage) to include loads of extra storage drivers and modules, this now works and i dont get this error. However when ive set FOG up on my laptop i had to set up DHCP server and ive messed up the IP settings, fog still runs from the browser at localhost/fog/management but when i try to do things i get ftp login errors, hopefully this shouldnt be a problem at work I can just copy my bzImage over and my pxelinux.cfg directory over (as i installed ubuntu ontop of windows and the TFTPBOOT is in the root aka C:\ so it left my original. ANYWAY, i now have a problem in that after selecting quick clone, or quick upload or whatever its called from the PXE menu I put in my password it loads up then asks me again for a username and pass, which dosnt work, it wont accept anything, Is this the same problem you'r having or is it the not accepting your login at the PXE menu? If so i'll have a root around for you and see if theres a way to change passwords in the mysql, theres a config.php that contains some passwords. It might be easier to re-install FOG and see if you have the same problem.

also if you get php errors showing up or unable to connect to TFTP / FTP server follow these instructions: For Versions Before 0.24 This seems to be caused by a password issue, 1. From the fog management interface, go to users. 2. Reset the fog user password. 3. Click the "I" icon - "Other Information" 4. Click "Fog Settings" in the menu on the left 5. Replace the FOG_TFTP_FTP_PASSWORD and the FOG_NFS_FTP_PASSWORD fields under FOG settings with your Linux fog user password. (Seems like FOG_NFS_FTP_PASSWORD is gone for ver .24). For Versions .24 + * Reset the local password for user fog with: [sudo] passwd fog * In management front end, go to Storage Management -> All Storage Nodes * Click on DefaultMember * Change the Management Password to match the password you just changed. * Then go to Other Information and change FOG_TFTP_FTP_PASSWORD also. I know what it is now! you have to change the password mannually in the default file it dosnt work for me inside fog, its an MD5 hash something like $0$123456789 just change it to a plain text password and it works.

yes that and making sure they all have ACPI either on or off to match your image as windows loads different HALS, and your images wont boot if your destination computers are not set the same as the one you imaged.
