Schools will have received a letter from One Connect Limited informing them that they now provide support for CLEO services. Such as • Moodle • Connectivity • Remote Access • Video Conferencing To report issues with these services you will now need to contact One Connect Ltd directly on 0845 053 0006. I would like to confirm that the services included in the Cumbria ISP Package continue to be provided by Cumbria County Council Schools ICT Helpdesk (CICT.org.uk) these services include: • E-mail • Web Filtering • DNS • Anti-virus • Website Hosting • Content Management System (CMS for school websites) • WSUS For all support requests relating to these systems please either e-mail [email protected], log a ticket at CICT Helpdesk System or call 01228 221225. If anyone is interested, I've put a document up here: Useful Documents | CICT.org.uk Under eMail & MAD & iPod - Set up user Guide (p15 I think). The settings should be the same for iPhones, however if it doesn't work it could be getting blocked by your phone carrier. One thing that isn't in the guide (Which I should update) is if you wish to try using the mail without SSL IMAP uses port 143. Rich

Hi all, In case anyone is interested I have created a Geogebra MSI. It got annoying for me because we have over 300 machines and previous to me creating the MSI this had to be installed manually on each machine as it only came in exe format. And due to the restrictions on the systems the students were unable to run the "web version" If you want it, it can be found here: Custom Action Information Please also be aware that the latest Java with VM has to be installed fully in order for this to work. By looking at the Tax website, It looks like I would have to register myself as a business as I am suppling good and / or services, and as my overall earnings are over 6k a year I would have to fill out a self eval tax form each year. Also I would have to pay NI of £2.20 a week through direct deb. I think I have that right??

Hi all, Looking for some advice really. I am going to be leaving my current place of work (secondary school) to work for another company. The school has asked me if I would be interested in doing the website on the side, so I have said yes. Now I have already created the website design but it currently has no content at all. So once I start my new job its just needing the content added and BAM the have a site. But how much would you charge? I've never charged a school or company before for websites so I’m at a bit stuck. The site has roughly 20 pages and I might have to set up a flash photo gallery. The content (writing would be supplied by a co-ordinator in the school) Any help would be appreciated. Cheers Rich

When you say your going to have to store data, do you mean your going to create network mapped drives? or is it individual user areas for users? And How much you looking at spending?

I'll let you know techie how it gets on, I've roled it out to 30 machines. I'll just sit back and wait for the complaints to come in!

:DYeah 230v is meant to be the correct voltage, on a house it is supplied at 240v. But on a school & businesses the incoming voltage tends to be alot higher because of possible systems it has to supply. We are just in the process of having ours upgraded. But the point I was trying to make was if there is a problem incoming supply then there will be spikes thoughout the school. But depending on the UPS, some can handle higher electric spikes than others. Just something to think about thats all. Im more than likely well off the mark! Its the good thing about these Forums, always gives you something else to think about
