Do you know how you did this? And did it cause any issues with census or attendance?

I was wondering if anyone had ever started their academic year in the middle of August in SIMS even though it doesn't really start until September? I'm asking as we use things that use Groupcall Export and this year they didn't sync until the 1 Sept, but staff wanted to start using them in the summer to prepare for the new year. Thanks

This might have been covered somewhere but I've done that much on Progress 8 today that I'm numb! Would a fine Level always be rounded up or down or.... ? As we have done the Fine Levels to 2 DPs. Thanks

Answered my own question as Further Maths is in the Maths E-Bacc bucket: This qualification counted in the performance measures for the first time in 2014. It was subject to the rule that only two non-GCSEs counted in the 2014 performance tables. In 2015, schools are able to opt-in to Progress 8 one year early. To ensure that all eligible qualifications are counted in headline measures AQA and WJEC Level 1/2 Certificates have been removed from the list of non-GCSE qualifications and remain only on the EBacc list – they will therefore not be subject to the capping of non-GCSEs rule. This is the case across all performance measures for all schools in both 2015 and 2016 performance tables.

Hi all, I may be being dense here but I can't find this anywhere. I'm assuming it won't be, but does anyone know whether the AQA Level 2 Further Maths (8360) would be included in the P8 Maths basket? Thanks

Just a quick question When adding a child as FSM in SIMS should I also be ticking the PP indicator? Is this something that other schools do? I have already imported the PP data from K2S but there are students who the LA have told us are new to FSM. Many thanks

If there are going to be other users using assessment, then the best way would be to make heavy use of categories and train the users to always find an aspect from a category.

Hi all I was just wondering what others were doing in terms of the English SAT. Traditionally we have used a formula to work out the English SAT and then set targets and track progress for English. However, given that P8 abolishes this - are people carrying on formulating an English SAT or just using reading? Just asking as I am currently sorting our new Y7 intake SAT data. Thanks

I'm pulling my hair out trying to sort KS2 fine point scores so that I can work this stuff out properly! NCA Tools and K2S only gives us test marks, I can't find anything other than sub-levels in FFT Aspire and FFT Live does show fine point scores but never shows the full cohort. Ggggrrrrrr

Apologies for the overload of questions with this! However - does anyone know how FFT works out the Rwm grade - as they are different to the ones I worked out? I did (Reading APS + Writing APS + 2*Maths APS) / 4 then converted into a sub-level. Thanks Dan

Focus > School > Academic Structure then either Assignment by Scheme to adjust a student between classes (i.e. to move them between sets) or Assignment by Student to adjust a students timetable. Hope this helps!

Is anyone replacing the SATs grades you have in your MIS (obtained from K2S) with the ones in FFT? And if so how are you doing this? Thanks Dan

So FFT has finally updated and I'm looking at checking the SATs grades I have in SIMS with the ones on FFT. I may be being dense here but is there an easy way to get them from FFT into SIMS other than inputting them manually - as the only export option is PDF?!?!?

Hi all, I'm just wondering if anyone else has seen differences in what their Value Added was reported as in Raise and what you expected it to be. We use Sisra for analytics, and our VA in Raise is completely different. I have done all the calculations through the Raise Ready Reckoners and it appears that Raise is calculating this correctly. Just wondered if anyone has had any similar experiences? Thanks

I got an email today from FFT (forwarded to schools by our LA) saying that the uploading of pupil data to get their KS2 data (i.e. new Year 7's) will be coming week commencing 15th Dec!

I've managed to do something but when I do it all as one report I can't filter by the current academic year so it shows everything for the student when all I want is the current academic year. If I do a sub-report and filter by academic year it crashes SIMS. Arrrghhhhhh!!

Hi all, We are looking at adding a sheet that will go out for each student with reports that shows the number of Conduct points (Achievement minus Behaviour points) plus the number of detentions plus the reasons for any detentions. This can't be done in Assessment Manager reports so I have been trying to design a custom report but can't get it to work how I'd like. I'm wondering if anyone does anything similar? Thanks

Apologies if this is a daft question - but I'm stumped by this! I've got the KS2 whole levels for our Y7 intake from Key to Success, and I've used the scores to work out roughly the sublevels. To get the accurate information on sublevels is it just a case of waiting for FFT Aspire to (eventually) update? Thank you

Hi, I've got no idea if this can even be done, nevermind how, but our LA have renamed SEN to SEND - and I'm wondering if there's a way to do this in SIMS so that on Marksheets, etc. is says SEND instead of SEN. Thanks
