  1. random keyboard problem windows 7 imac setup once logged in a user trys to type and a clicking noise is played but nothing is typed on screen user logs off and the keyboard is working again anyone had this issue
  2. i had one today on a dual boot imac removed from doman then added again fixed the issue
  3. do you have auto login disabled
  4. you might also want to check if the time is correct on the workstations as i have had problems with gpos not applying due to time being out ,i now run a script on startup that syncs the time to the dc and my gpo woes have gone
  5. your folder redirection is not being applied
  6. for some weird reason application data was being redirected Weird as this did not show in testing things are now working ok still have to look at why domain admins are getting restrictions applied.

  8. but mine has been fine for the time i have been working on this until today i need to find a way to have the shortcuts on the start menu pretty quick as the kids are back next week. i had something else weird go on today even logged in as domain admin it appears the pupils restrictions are still being applied Hence no access to c: i am going to strip out all the gpo's and see whats going on.
  9. i have just come back to setting my new windows 7 pcs out and for some reason all the taskbar quicklanuch items have dissapeared and the start menu quick lauch items have gone also the files are in the profile but they will not display. something weired has gone on since last week as everything was working perfectly. anyone have a solution mandatory profiles in use here is it a windows update that has messed things up
  10. dont you sysprep your machines as you could run into problems later
  11. i must be missing something here i have disabled librarys (I think) but the users library that is created when they log on with a mandatory profile is still shown anyone got any ideas

  16. just finishing my windows 7 install and i have come across a little issue that might confuse people while using office the user goes to file and open the user then sees desktop,DVD drive Network home folder and other network shares but underneath a link to the users name is listed can i remove this i only want the network shares to be shown the users name seems to point to the local profile that is created when they log on i would really like this to not appear we are using mandatory profiles if that makes any difference Thanks in advance

  18. i think i will tell them to copy important data over to the windows share this gets backed up each night

  20. yes we are using open directory on logon and logoff would that slow things down to a crawl?

  22. just finishing off my mac installation and was wondering if i can install sophos on the macs from my current endpoint console which is on a 2008 server or do i need to setup the console on my mac server and push it from that.

  24. Looks like its going to take a while to get this up and running anyone else got any software they use
