Hi, I managed to recreate the issue on my vms by removing the folder 'replication' on one of the servers. If you check the path for stored replication harddrives has the folder 'replication' been created already?

Hi, sometimes my system gets stuck if I don't run gpupdate /force on both machines, no idea why this is the case. The other things to check is that the storage space has been configured correctly for where the replication harddrives are to be stored. this will usually be different then the usual hyper-v drives are stored.

I know this will seem odd but try running gpupdate /force on both servers then try again, works for me

Hi all, We use Sims FMS and as part of that the equipment register module. Our Finance guy uses this to calculate depreciation on a yearly basis however after a recent audit things have gone wrong and there must (hope) be a simple fix and the issues must have happened to others. For those who know the software there was a 'reverse last run' performed which was fine however when trying to run the depreciation again the dates are incorrect so it will not work- the 'next depreciation run from-to' fields are non editable from what I can see and as the dates are incorrect in the auto populated fields so we are stuck. Contacted our mis support and they have asked for us to upload the fms database to see whats up but im hoping someone else has had and found a fix for this issue already. Any advice is always appreciated!

Its essentially just a 'tick box' task. We have some cases of students smashing monitors and their parents saying "why should we pay for the damage when did you tell my child they couldent break stupid school monitors that are c**p anyway" -well in the AUP it states... Its amazing how many times we have refered back to that one document -for staff as well! Do agree its odd other docs dont have this as well, maybe because teachers assume its obvious you shouldent punch a child but not so obvious you shouldent punch a monitor (with IT being comparativly new compared to social expected behaviour?).

we find that we just turn down the mp count because they quickly fill up their private drives and the common drive with massive mb images, all they do is use the images for powerpoints and viewing on the monitors so no more then 4mp is needed. We just get cheap refurbs fom ebay as it takes about a week for them to destroy them! Long as its sd card thats fine as we buy the teachers cheap (£1-2) sd card usb readers

I was under the impression you can have a difference of 15 mins tolerance before server and client get upset, so i always change it by less then this and havent had a problem so far with a windows server based domain (2003/2008)

Hi all, dont suppose anyone has come accross this issue before? SIMS allows information to be input and stored where both parents of a child are not residing at the same address but when correspondence is to be issued to both parents (therefore 2 sets of information such as reports are required to be posted out by the school - one to the mother at one address and one to the father at another address) there doesnt seem to be a way of automatically doing this. So for example if absence letters are required mail merging will ony print off to the primary parent and currently staff use a printed wall chart to highlight which parents need extra letters to parents/guardians at different addresses. It can get complex with some students living arrangements. This information is input within the section of 'Family/Home' under the contacts section but I am unable to locate a report which will identify those students which this applies to so that they can be included on the mail merge address print outs. Anyone had similar issues? Any ideas welcome, thanks!

Interesting! Always good to get a feel for what's going on. Seems most people are in the same boat. I am aware of one school that pays 7k extra for esafe duties to its network manager but that sounds more like the exception rather then the rule. Hi everyone, just wanted to get some opinions on the role of e-safety officer/co-ordinator the school i work at just created this role to have an individual improve our overall e-safety and i took on this role in addition to my Network Manager duties (attend all training, policy creation, logging of incidents and staff/parent tutorial sessions etc) Just wondering how other schools grade this role either for teachers or support staff. I know the child protection officer role carries a significant bonus on wage but i have been informed i will recieve nothing (not even extra time) to perform the role of e-safe officer as its 'network safety' and therefore my responsibility anyway? any information on this role in your workplace would be appriciated.

I have a horrible feeling then that my school has messed up because they were rushing the details through, and if what people have said on here is anything to go by the pay rise i had to fight for could be invain. If othe people at least had network manager job descriptions to work from why couldent my liverpool based school get them?! ill let you know how it goes....im dusting off my c.v just incase
