I think that if you can demonstrate a reasonable amount of 'Industry experience' then you may be able to qualify for some funding.

I am hopefully taking the plunge in September. I have a place but waiting for the classification of my degree. Need a 2:1 realistically with all the financial bursaries that it comes with.

Hi guys and gals I am doing a degree at present and one of my courses is a group project. We have been tasked with building a website for Appleby Town / Town council. We are trying to get some social media involvement included and this has seen us create a Facebook page. Now if we achieve 30+ hits then we get access to some Analytical tools which we think will be useful so all I am asking is that you go to this page and click Like. If you don't really want to know what is happening in Appleby in the future you can unlike after a week or so! Thank you in advance for your help.

We are testing Chrome at the minute in a couple of ICT suites. We were reluctant at first however we now have it locked down fairly tight. Users can still get into the options however a lot of the choices are greyed out so they can't do anything with them. Have to say, we needed help with a couple of settings and the support I found at the chromium website was superb. The test seems to be going quite well so in a couple of weeks it could be rolled out as an additional browser for student use.

I think the obvious thing would be the user comments have disappeared.

I would be very interested to hear if somebody had managed to get this working with the RM Smartcache 2!

Thank you both for your replies, We are a secondary school here and we currently only have the staff on our email system - an Exchange server. Are there any Secondary schools out there that are using Google Apps? Have you looked at it and decided not to go forward with it? Thank you again for any comments

Hi, We have a teacher who has been sold on the whole Google Apps for Education and has been speaking to the headteacher saying this is free and that is free, we can save massive amounts with regards to our ICT spending. Obviously the head teacher is very interested and has asked us to put a pro's & con's list together to see if we should move towards this scenario. There are lots of threads already and I have been through most of them, however I want to hear people's experiences of Google Apps for Education, how it is implemented in the school and how easy it is to setup, for instance do you have Single Sign On initialised, do you link the My Documents & Email systems on the network? Would you rather be using the Live@Edu system? Thanks, I look forward to reading your replies. Nick

Hi, I have tried installing this onto a member server using version 7 manual, when it comes to the configuration (browsing to the website) all I get is 'You are not authorized to view this page' message. We are running an RM CC3 Network, and installing it onto a member server running 2003 (IIS 6) What have I missed? Thanks in advance

We are trying to get Google Chrome installed around the school, however we need to stop it from being able to look at the local drives (type c:/ into address bar and it displays the C drive, works for any mapped drive). Which policy do i need to alter? Thanks

We have been asked this very question by a newby ICT teaching and learning co-ordinator. I told him if he wanted it changed then create a policy that SMT & Headmaster sign off on. He went off and did it, the policy has to be signed by teaching staff before they will be able to access Facebook etc.. I think this is the best policy to go down as responsibility lies with SMT and ultimately Headmaster.

i know that when we have had issues with document server (on a RM Network) it is down to the proxy address putting a ; after the address. I am not sure if this is the same thing but worth looking over. Nick
