Took me nearly half an hour at roughly 1 frame every 10 seconds to cull the cows and sheep that had amassed because my grinder storage chest was full. Then got some more of my lighting done and set up a semi-automatic steel production line (just put stacks of coal in a chest and wait) using a coke oven, a unifier and a blast furnace connected with Ender IO item and fluid conduits. Also nearly finished covering the roof of my power plant in leadstone solar panels there'll be 112 when I'm done. Then I'll just need to upgrade them

No windows in the main office. I get a wonderful view of the main corridor if I look out of either door though! The 6th form IT office is a different matter though

From experience, I wouldn't recommend anything that can be lost or stolen or any devices that have a hole or slot in them That's why we have finger print readers.

Sounds like a good idea. Would need to be a fairly large, unobstructed area though. We'll need to agree on a style though or we'll end up with a mish-mash of modern and arcahic styles

The thing that gets me is the sheer laziness of people that have to drive everywhere. I'm acutely aware that I am no better than most in this respect, but I am at least trying to keep healthy by regularly going for walks or cycling to work. It's just not seen as as a leisure activity by the majority anymore.

Unfortunately not. I believe that it is offered in most areas, but there is next to zero publicity. At least, not in this area. I had mine at a nearby middle school who were offering it at the time, but were the only school in the pyramid to do so, iirc.

I did the same kind of thing. It's very informative and does teach you a lot. The problem is, at least for my age group, that it was not a popular thing to do and wasn't particularly easily accessible. I had to travel 15 miles to the nearest center that did it, and when I got there, there were only about 20 there for it (of a possible ~3000-4000 children of age in the area).

Completely agree. I still hold the opinion that people should have to pass some sort of test before cycling on the roads though. everyone else does.

I agree with the sentiment, though when their "something bad" results in their death by my car, I can't just sit idly by. If they have a death wish, that's fine, just don't involve others. I don't want my children (who were in the car at the time) to witness a fatal collision like that.

Worst that I've come across is a cyclist riding at about 11pm along a road lined with dense trees either side (i.e. extremely dark) with no lights, wearing all black on a black bike. I only saw him at the last second and very narrowly avoided what would most likely have been a fatal collision. Fortunately I was in a position to stop and explain in no uncertain terms what a pillock he was. I think he was genuinely rattled by it though, judging by the demeanor. I don't understand why people are so determined to get hit whist on their bikes. I occasionally cycle 8 miles to work, and would never dream of going without being lit up like a Christmas tree (two lights on he front, one high beam and one low level, and 2 red lights on the back at different heights) and with my high-vis on. I value my organs too much

We use LiveRegister, which reads data from most big MIS solutions and is quite easy to set up and for receptionists to manage. We've got 4 fingerprint readers to record attendance at our 6th form center and all they have to do is stick their finger on the reader to sign in, though I believe that they do offer other options (we have several students whom, for various reasons, can't use fingerprint scanners so they have pin codes to sign in with). If, in time, you decide to go with them, they also do access control and cashless catering, though we've not gone this far with them. We've had this solution for about a year now and are very happy with it.

Speaking of... Who put one in my base!? I can't find the damned thing! I had one in the temporary hole that I build, and only found the cicada when I was dismantling everything. Just need the opportunity now...

Try adding the computers to their own group and call that with item level targeting rather than going by OU. that's how I do my printer locational mappings.

If doing this for domain joined machines, the way I do this is to add the script, without the "/m" switch, as a scheduled task in group policy. Simple solution and hasn't missed a beat yet.

I set up some waterwheels last night so that I'm actually producing more power than I'm using! I also build an electric jetpack and am looking for somewhere to build my proper base, preferably somewhere flat. A desert or plains type would be ideal.

Which mod pack do the windmill and water wheels come from? There seems to be hundreds of ways of doing some things. The windmills that I was looking at from IC2 say that they only last for a certain amount of time.

Just out of interest, what does everyone else use to power all of their systems (IC2, AE2, Ender IO...) I currently have a series of solar panels and a coal-fired generator in my IC2 setup, which powers an Energy Acceptor for my AE2 stuff. I'm still not sure how to power Ender IO devices. I was considering a big reactor, but that seems to be a bit of a leap.

I tend to get this too, but had attributed it to being Java at my end. Seems fine once you get past the noise (I have been getting one roughly 50% of the time i log into the server) and the initial "can't do anything at all" lag.

I was good with vanilla Minecraft, but I've never played with most of what you're talking about. I'd like to have a play if you'll let me. Hopefully I can pick up some helpful tips from people that actually know what they're doing! I'm Sephiroth225.

Have a look at Veeam Endpoint Backup Free. It has to be set up on each server and has basic functionality, but works very well for me at home (Veeam Backup & Replication at school... only need to backup VMs). It'll do compression and deduplication and will do incremental backups on a schedule. I assume that you use Veeam B&R; if so, it'll integrate with that too.

I use the KLite Mega codec pack. What is useful with this is that there is a tool with it for mass deployment. I'm not saying that MPC-HC doesn't though, as I've not used it.

For just an incremented suffix, your best bet would be to do something like this: $Number = 1 $Name = "AA" $Username = $Name+$Number While (DSQuery User -SAMID $Username) { $Number++ $Username = $Name+$Number } This will check AD for usernames of your convention and if it exists, increments the number by 1.

Are your servers and clients on different VLANs and/or subnets? If so the officially recommended way is to use IP Helper addresses, though the DHCP options may work (certainly didn't for me). I'd been struggling with this for ages before someone pointed me in the direction of a particular TechNet article (which I can't now find, I'll add if I find it).

We currently use different taskbar colours for staff, students, admin and ancillary accounts so that they can be quickly distinguished. Works well for us and means no annoying box on top of everything.
