  1. I was looking for the LIKE button for a moment
  2. If you need a prenup then what is the point of getting married? If you start out not trusting, where is there to go?
  3. So you'd rather keep the poor, poor? The rich can be scroungers too you know. Just because you are poor does not mean you can't be bothered to get out of bed. I almost read your post as satire at first.
  4. Nope, still not forgotten the American sub-prime mortgage market and the mess they made of rolling up risks.
  5. Was it not Gordon Brown who created the 10p rate in the first place against Tory opposition? Things would have been different as they would have consolidated the recovery this year before the cuts to address the deficit, rather than the cuts now which will make things a lot worse.
  6. Oh it's easy enough. You just do a custom install and only select the driver.
  7. I believe you can only get that driver bundled with the ActivInspire installation. We are still stuck on ActivStudio 3 so we have to part install ActivInspire to get the new boards to work.
  8. We are getting the passive polarised system. The demo was very impressive and went down well with staff and students.
  9. 3D Projection? Amazing Interactives: The 3D Experts
  10. Answer in this thread http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/49521-sanyo-xe-40-a.html
  11. See attached - but no resposibilty taken for any damage resulting from following these instructions - which i got from the web - etc. It can be a bit fiddly if you aren't used to taking these things apart. I found going in sideways under the board worked better than going down the access hole illustrated. The switch is quite obvious when you see it and doesnt need a lot of pressure to push back home. I did have one though where it wasn't the switch so don't go forcing it! Sanyo_XE40__of_thermal_switch_reset.xls
  12. Spiking can also be caused by other electrical devices in close proximity. We once found that moving the monitor on the PC a touch further away from the board cured one spiking case.
  13. If you haven't a licence you always need to ask the copyright or licence holder for permission. I have found most to be very accomodating, but occasionally an extra charge is levied. It is not worth bypassing the law because you think it will be ok. It also depends if the system you are copying too allows multiple viewings at once. We have an ERA+ licence so we can enable staff and students to view at home via the VLE too. But occasionally you have to keep watching the VHS if no such permission is forthcoming and the resource is unavailable on DVD or the curriculum are not willing to buy it again.
  14. There is a known problem with the thermal trip cutting out which needs a manual reset inside the projector. There are some changes to the fan speed and temperature cut out that can be made in the Service Mode if you know what you are doing. If they are part of a Promethean installation (and maybe under warranty?) you might persuade them to come out and make the necessary changes. This particular model of projector has since been revised.
  15. I remember a good number of years back that Mike Oldfield was taking part in a Radio Show about this very subject, and he was accused by one of the then current musicians (it may even have been that guy out of The Prodigy) of being an old dinosaur who should move on (well he had been around 20 years since the early 70s). He may have had a good point to make until it was revealed that he was actually older than Oldfield himself, who had of course made it big whilst still a teenager and at that time was still under 40.
  16. We have a full Freeview recording system in place, through which we can allow access to our video library to all staff and students on site or off. It's just the licensing implications I was interested in.
  17. I haven't looked. I just wondered as Sky isn't covered by the ERA licence, and wondered if this Schools pack had a similar agreement. It's just for knowledge though, it's not something I am actively pursuing.
  18. Does this also allow you to record programmes from Sky and use them via a VLE, similar to the ERA+ agreement?
  19. ... don't forget the power lead will need it's own test too.
