    Projector Remotes

HI Do you have at least one of the correct type of remote that works. If you do Aldi used to sell a programable remote for about £20. Have a look next time you are in. I think Chris Bryers put me onto it a few weeks ago. Richard
  2. Hi Paul Please could you send me the details of the post and the pay scale. Thanks Richard
  3. HI I know that this is not the answer that you want but it might sort the problem for you. Have a look at http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/BgInfo.html. Its a program that creates a graphic with information on it and then saves it to a file and applies it as a desktop. If you run it as a start up script you can apply and give the different groups a different desktop with different information and that information is as up to date as the last log on. We use it at several schools and its great. Richard
  4. HI I have had a thought and yes that was my brain ticking you could hear. In group policy have you set it so that it will wait for the domain or does it allow the machines to boot without talking to the server. When applying group policy it says every 20 mins or so they should be updated on the client machine but at Carr Hill we average about 24 hours lols. When working with Microsoft you have to wwwwwwwwaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiittttttt lols. Have a nice weekend. Richards
  5. HI I know this will sound silly but have you checked the permissions on the group policy. Richard
  6. Hi folks I have tried the picasa and have found one kid with 761 copies of the same picture. LOLs Richard
  7. Hi Geof Yes it does but due to the number of pictures it find it kills my machine. Richard
  8. HI Does anyone know of a free picture finder and viewer so I can find all the pictures in the kids areas and view them. Thanks for all your help. Richard

  10. Hi Ghost is brill. Why dont you ghost to an external hard drive, a bit slow I know but very easy to do, or ghost to a dvd. Ghost can make it bootable and will have the program. Then all you have to do is plu a dvd drive in and boot from the dvd and you will have a fully installed machine in about 20 mins. It will even ghost over multiple cds or dvds if you have a huge install. You can do it with a hidden partition and then hide the drive letter but is it worth it. Have a nice day. 11. Hi Please could anyone help me I have a problem and I cannot find a solution. We have a windows 2003 domain with windows xp, 2000 clients. How do you set group policies so that students cannot right click All Programs and explore. We have loads of group policies in place to restrict students but we cannot find a way to stop them right clicking on all programs and getting at things. Its becoming a security pain. I want to keep the start buttion and dont want to just place all the icons on the desktop top. Does anyone have any ideas. Thanks for all your help. Richard Carr Hill High School
