Yes tosca925, changing that damn setting is a bit of a holy grail at the moment. There is another thread about ActiveX already. There hasn't been a proper solution yet. Using Regmon to monitor changes in the registry when you alter the setting hsa thrown up inconsistent results for me. To be honest, we could probably do with an updated IE adm file from Microsoft which has ALL the settings in it.

Ok SpuffMonkey, I can confirm that what you need to do is impossible according to Microsoft (BTW, not sure if you know that if you sign up to the Microsoft Partner program you can get some great free support as a registered member) Have a read of my previous posts, but basically only signed drivers can be installed by non-admins via a network share.

Are all the USB drives the same make and model?

Just rulled out GFI Webmonitor. It works really well at what it does, but unfortunatley it only blocks adult sites - no games, chat or proxies blocked Burstek is definitely tops so far, but the trials continue.

I trialled version 5 a while back and was surprised that it just 'detected' viruses by default initially, you actually had to configure it to delete/quarantine viruses. Is that right, or is it a nightmare I had? Anyway, if so, has this been tackled in V6? BTW Symantec Antivirus all the way!

There is nothing that ISA "can't" block either, but the question is, does your combination do it all automatically?

We are trialing ISA 2004 web filters at the moment, but are not 100% happy with any of them. (BTW, before you ask, the borough filtering is done by Synetrix/Equinox and is pants) BTWebfilter from Burstek has a local list of bad URLs and blocked words and was initially impressive, but once you got used to it one of my erm... 'colleagues' was able to find incredibale amounts of porn quiet easily. GFI Webfilter matches search requests with items on the Yahoo SafeSearch list and then adds the blocked ones to a urlblocklist on the ISA which made us think that that would be slow - and that's been our impression so far. Surfcontrol is way, way too expensive so we haven't even trialled it. What are your experiences with the above, or can you recommend other alternatives?

Local authority uses Synetrix (formerly Equinox) and all the schools around here agree that it's filtering is rubbish. I'm not sure how I could redirect an image query to the safe site? Both queries are done through images.google.com (or .co.uk) they just have different strings appended to the end of them. If you can tell me how to do this then that would be great. Cheers.

Right, "&strict=active" is certainly what we want as I've added it myself manually to the URL and it works. However I've no idea how to append some text to a URL request in ISA. I did a quick search in the microsoft.public.isa newsgroup and someone else asked the same question and got this reply: "Ty R.
