Just a quick one, I have redirected desktop for all staff users, but when I have installed Adobe X using my accound ( I have admin rights ) its put the Icon on the desktop so now even though staff have redirected desktop the icon comes up, other then going round each pc, which I dont want to do, how can I sort this? Thanks

Use software restriction to disable ''HelpPane.exe'' from starting, but search the whole PC C:\ for WinHlp32.exe and add any path which the search finds.

If you do a gpupdate /force, does it error ? I had this problem last week, was a GPO not working correctly, had to recreate it.

I would do it per Computer if it were me. They wouldnt need them folders, I took them all out so they only have COmputer there.

How are you doing this? have you already got windows 7 on the machines? of is this to make a image to put on the clients

Just backed up {31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9} which was the domain policy and all looks like its working.

OK after some looking around {31B2F340-016D-11D2-945F-00C04FB984F9} is the '' Default Domain Policy '' GPO and I cant access it, if I edit it it says '' Failed to open the GPO. You may not have appropriate right.. Details. The system cannot find the Path specified.

Also this The File Replication Service is no longer preventing the computer DC01 from becoming a domain controller. The system volume has been successfully initialized and the Netlogon service has been notified that the system volume is now ready to be shared as SYSVOL. First I noticed that the PC were pulling over all the old printers from the old server, even though they are setup using GP on the new server, then today I am getting this message when doing a GPUpdate and now the GPO are not pulling over for clients. You need to really have a read through other post. We are getting ready to role it out and the amount of Reg Fixs I have had to do it unreal!! Make a new GPO go though it and lock it down, Redirection was a bit of a problem for me, now sorted now. I redirected the My Doc and so on to the Drive Letter of the users home drive, in my case.. H:` , not the full path,``server``share and so on. This was the only way it worked for me. Also the explore bar on the left side you will need reg fixs for that and to also remove control panel from the desktop, or just block access if you like. Really Test it first!!

I have am having wired things happen with the start menu, I have redirected the desktop fine and the Start Menu did redirect OK but now its just stopped woking with out me changing anything. I redid the GPO, redid the folder it goes back to, I even got another spare PC and stuck 7 on that and still the same thing, When I click All programmes its blank? Any Ideas??

Its not read only and staff have Full Control on the drive

They have Full Control on the drive there saving on.

A teacher has pointed out to me that when they open a document from there homedrive and make some changes and click SAVE it comes up with the SAVE AS box, Now on my pc when you click SAVE it just saves it to the same location. Any ideas why its doing this? Thanks

Morning all. When a user logs on its fine, but then when they log off on the screen It doesnt go back to a blank username and password fields. It says Domain\Username then put the password under it, and the next user on the machine has to press SWITCH USER t log on. Any way around this? Thanks

We was running 2003 Server on our TS box's and 2x worked perfect then I upgraded to 2008R2 and 2x just would connect correctly so ended up taking it off the system
