  4. We have been working on an Online Options system for our students preparing to choose their GCSEs. This has been fully intergrated into our Learning Platform with access by students and parents. I thought I would share this on here and also to see what people think. We have made the actual full site available to all so you can play with it. The site is fully editable by an admin which makes it a really powerful and efficient tool. Check out the student videos and sample lessons here: GCSE Online Options full site click here: All the login and password details are shown. http://sharepointineducation.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/11/options-online1.png Mike Herrity SharePoint in Education
  5. One option is to look at hosting your own SharePoint. We have done quite a bit of work on this and write a little bit about it. Take a look at www.sharepointineducation.com and our site www.twynhamschool.com/supportinglearning For me the key to SharePoint is it is flexible and works straight out of the box. There is a new VLE component around the corner which looks great and users find it so easy to use. You might also want to take a look at a presentation which overviews what we do with SharePoint: Twynham School SharePoint presentation
  6. Nyall Monkton was present at the day and produced a presentation which we unfortunately did not get to before he had to leave. I have added the presentation to the blog and thought I would make it known to people on here: Dean Close School Windows 7 Deployment
  7. Hi. I thought it might be useful to share a little information about a session I was involved in today at Microsoft Reading. Twynham School hosted an "Early Adopters' Forum" to try and get as many schools as possible together who had deployed Windows 7 within their schools. The day was very enjoyable and I have posed a number of presentations and a summary on my blog which I thought some people may find useful. They are from a variety of schools and Local Authorities as follows: Twynham School Windows 7 Deployment West Hatch School Windows 7 Deployment Warwickshire Windows 7 Deployments Lodge Park Technology College Windows 7 Deployment Top Reasons and tips for deploying Windows 7 in schools I hope this is useful for some. If you would like any further information please do contact me by email at [email protected] Mike Herrity Twynham School
  8. In all reality the person or people who are running the board are likely to be reasonable? I agree you should go for a two pronged approach and firstly see if they are willing to ensure the site is well managed and fair. If they are unwilling to do this then you would have to put up with it unless the comments are abusive. If this is the case refer to previous cases and the possible consequeses including prosecution There is evidence that Facebook does lock accounts in this way I would start nicely and work up from there as long as what they are saying is abusive. If they just said Mr H was boring then you may have to live with it.
