Hi, I have just removed Roaming Profiles from all users. Is there a quick way of removing cached copied of roaming profiles from the local harddrive without having to go on every machine? Thanks

Ok I will give that a try - I do have a machine that is in a Test group with no group policies attached to it - I assume roaming profiles would be setup as a GPO? I'll have a play around next week - thanks for your support

So in theory I don't need Roaming Profiles as long as staff and pupils save to their N drive so their documents are stored on the server. The Desktop and taskbar doesn't matter anyway - I assume this will also make it quicker to login to a machine? We have always had roaming profiles since 2010. So I have not known of not having roaming profiles. I do sometimes require to access the kids work from my machine I assume I can still do this without a roaming profile. As if everything is saved locally to the machine and that breaks (as we have had no new devices since 2012) so is likley to happen we would lose everything.

Yes we are on roaming profiles so all users can login and have all their documents on whatever machine they login to. Attachment here as to what I'm referring to.

No we don't use Impero. We used to have a server and support from Ergo up until April of this year, in which we then got a new server and support from Sprint Integration, in which they transferred everything from our Ergo server to the new one.

Hello, Since early September I have noticed that there is something odd happening with the User Profiles. At my school all children from Year 1 to 6 have their own User Profile as well as all staff, for some reason when a user logs into a machine it just goes black with the cursor. The cursor can move so it's not froze then nothig loads after that - you can do CTRL+ALT+DELETE and get up the Task Manager. When I run explorer it runs but then nothing happens again. This seems to be an issue every day for atleast 1 person - I end up having to create a new user and it works for a while then it stops again. Our server support company have said it's a local user problem on the machine - we never used to have this issue with our last server and due to the new server being installed during the first lockdown none of this was tested as users were not using the machines. Does anyone else have this issue as it may just be an update causing this, I do wonder if it's because the machines were connected to the older server and it's been transferred over and the machine needs to be re-installed with Windows so it clears it all the previous servers local user profiles. But then this doesn't explanin why a teacher who joined us in September has the issue she can login on her laptop as her login but when she logs into her class computer is goes blank. Any advise would be appreciated. Thanks

I have been playing around with a test group so I have one machine under the group but can login as any domain user. When I logged in as the Servername\Administrator the apps worked - when I created a new login called Test User it worked fine also. But when I give it a Profile Path & Home Folder and log back in as that user the apps stop working. Once I removed the profile path & Home Folder it works again. Anyone else have this? I assume it is something to do with the Profile Path/Home Folder causing the issue.

Sorry - yes I contacted the company directly and they remoted onto the server and did a fresh install.

Hi, I am setting uo Groupcall Xporter on my Windows 2019 server, but I keep getting the message saying "failed to connect to xporter@localhost:6000" Is anyone else getting this? or is it something I need to change? Thanks

Hello, Not sure if anyone else has the same issue, but for some reason some of our user profiles go black once logged in. For example, a teacher logged into their class computer without an issue, but when they logged into their laptop the screen went black with the cursor only. Has anyone else had the issue, if so is there a fix? This is happening more and more. Thanks

Hi, All pupil accounts work outside of the school without an issue. I have tried Edge and IE and they both work as well as Incongito Mode on Chrome. I have also signed in sucefully on a school iPad as a child and worked fine.

Hello, I'm not sure if other schools are facing the same issue, we are a school that uses GSuite for Education. Children were able to login fine before September but now all of a sudden everytime they login to Google Classroom they get an error saying it can't sync [email protected] I have tried the following and now running out of ideas Clearing cache Deleting the PC username and re-create after deleting the folder Reinstall Chrome Incognito Mode (WORKED) Even though Incognito mode worked, I'd still prefer the normal Chrome Tab to work. Staff accounts work fine, it's just the children - it isn't the Google account that is the issue as they were fine outside of school so it must be something in school preventing this from working.

We are Windows 10 Pro The apps don't work as a local user either as far as I'm aware but will give that a try. But the apps worked before I joined it up to the domain so I know it's not the machine itself. Thanks

Why can't this be simple!! Our IT support company have come back saying "The fix to this issue is to ensure that that following folders and permissions levels are correctly set; Local Account "All Application Packages" %Userprofile%\AppData\Local\Packages Folder - Full Control C:\Users Folder - Full Control C:\Program Files\WindowsApps - Read & Execute, List Folder Contents and Read" I have done this and even the machine they did it on the apps still do not work. I'm getting so frustrated with it, as it's one of those things that should work without an issue. They bring out these new operating systems, yet you just get issues all the time.

Hello I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue, or have any guidance on what to do next. All our machines are Windows 10 Pro, we have a Windows 2019 server, we gaced the same issue before when we were on Windows 2008 server where the client/workstation machines don't appear to have any apps such as Calendar, Calculator, Snip & Sketch, Photos etc. I have checked GPO's and can't see anything there either. The Store icon is there but when you click it, it then closes straight away without even loading. The machines that used to be on the Admin server (Windows 2012) the apps worked fine until once again it joined the new server and now doesn't work either. There is not 1 machine in the school where the apps work, our IT support company has done a lot of troubleshotting with commands for Powershell etc but had no luck. It seems odd that we got brand new laptops and the apps worked fine, until they were connected up to the server, then the apps didn't work. Which indicates to me that there must be a GPO somewhere preventing them from working. I have been advised by the support to wipe the machine and reinstall Windows which is going to take ages to do 80 machines before retuning on the 3rd Sept.

Hi, Does anyone know of a way to keep the apps from Windows 10 (Photos, Office, Calculator etc) but disable the Store. I don't want children to be able to open up the Store or the teachers even. On the group policy it only gives you the option to either enable everything or disable. Thanks

Hi, I have been back a forth with RISO and ERGO regarding our printers. We have 2 different servers Curriculum (Server 2008) and Admin (Server 2012) our printer RISO Comcolor 3010 is on the Curriculum network/server with an IP address, this was mapped by Capita & Ergo together on the Admin server. I now seem to get an error saying that the IP address has timed out and can't ping the IP address as it says Timed out but this only happens on machines on the Admin network. RISO and ERGO seem to blame each other with RISO saying it's a network issues which lies with ERGO, while ERGO say it's a driver issue with lies with RISO. So either way the issue has not been resolved. Does anyone have any clue as to why the Admin machines can no longer communicate with the IP address on the Curriculum network for the printer? Any advice would be appreciated as I have some SLT members unable to print. Thanks

Hi, We are now using a laptop to connect to the board - the laptop does not have a serial port slot on the laptop. Does anyone know if there is any adapter where I can plug the serial lead into an adapter ton then plug into my laptop with a USB for something? Hi, I believe this has probably been asked before, but I have a SB540 & SB580 I totally understand that Matrix no longer offers support for these models but ever since we upgraded to Windows 10 neither of the boards have worked. If anyone is aware of how to get these working I'd be most grateful. Thanks

Hi, We are planning on getting more iPads in the near future, at present we have 12 iPads, this is a nightmare keeping them updated with the apps. I enrolled on the Apple School Manager which seemed the best thing to do but it says about connecting a MDM server. I've had a look but can't seem to find any. Does anyone know of a site that they use when it comes to a MDM server. Thanks
