The BBC have published a list of organisations that are due to be cut as part of the public sector spending review. These organisations are supported by the government but not directly run by them (AKA Quangos).

Of interest to those in the education sector are the following public bodies that will be cut:

- General Teaching Council

- Independant Advisory Group on Teenage Pregnancy

- Qualification and curriculum Development Agency

- School Food Trust

Other public bodies at risk include the School Support Staff Negotiating Body and the Training and Development Agency for Schools.

The BBC article, with accompanying PDF document listing the cuts and organisations under threat, is available here.
