As you all know by now the long awaited Raspberry Pi launched last week, and although the sudden demand had initially caused the 2 distributors, Farnell and RS Components, websites to choke early on this has now been sorted out, probably due to the fact that the first 10,000 Raspebrry Pi units had sold within about 15 minutes of going on sale. The good news however is that Raspberrypi.org have announced that the production lines will now continue to produce units to demand, so there should be a ready and constant supply in the near future.

We at EduGeek have not only been following the whole Raspberry Pi development, but have in recent weeks been helping various people out in the background, and it is for this reason we feel that there are some things you should be aware of as regards to 'where to go for what' in the Pi world.
For this we have teamed up with the guys at Frambozenbier.org, the Raspberry Pi homebrew community, who have not only produced some first class documentation on the Pi but asked us to host their forums for them. These forums are intended to be far more development and project orientated than the single projects forum on the main Raspberry Pi site, and given the amount of knowledge, experience and innovation we know our members possess, we're pretty sure they have found the right home.

You should note that the people behind Raspberry Pi had decided that the software development side of Raspberry Pi should be community driven hence why it may seem that there are duplicate forums on both sites. The main 'official' Raspberry Pi site will be for news and updates whereas the community sites will be where all of the technical action takes place, which is why EduGeek was asked to help in providing the community forums given our strong schools user base, levels of technical knowledge readily at hand, and experience of running busy forums. This is where you will be able to find out about the latest developments and technical help from those who have been working with the Raspberry Pi from the early days.
