  1. Good morning. Has anyone been able to connect a smoothwall to AWS Lightsail 3CX Cloud Instance? If so how did you do it? We are planning to get 3CX up and running.. Which it's currently setup in the cloud but we want to be able to setup the phones up as local but still have the PBX in the cloud. I did think about using a SBC but they seem to be unreliable for more than 50ext we have 70+ and I don't want to double up on these. Kind regards, Aaron.
  2. Hi all, This is really starting to bug me now. When visiting a sharepoint site it works perfectly, but when I try to visit example: https://example.sharepoint.com/sites/ I get given a 404 FILE NOT FOUND with the url of https://example.sharepoint.com/sites/_layouts/15/Authenticate.aspx?Source=%2Fsites%2F but any other company sharepoint sites when you type in https://example.sharepoint.com/sites/ it will redirect you to Office 365 login screen. Any thoughts? Thanks Aaron.
  3. Change it within the settings then update your DNS and reserve the IP within DHCP Problem solved. If you want a static, create an IP Address in DHCP with the mac address then type that IP into the mac settings > Apple Logo > System Pref > Network > Ethernet
  4. You can either use an MDM or DeepFreeze which will keep a workstation in the state you created the snapshot in.. e.g If the user changes settings, once a reboot.. It will revert back. https://www.faronics.com/en-uk/deep-freeze-mac_en-uk - as for an MDM.. JAMF is the way for mac management.
  5. Yes the changes should be instant.
  6. Mac settings > Active Directory
  7. Yes through the profile deployed. It will be $user but the loggon name must match the servers name. Mac logon name Joe.Bloggs must match Joe.Bloggs in AD if not it will not map the home folder.
  8. On the mac it will need to be configured. You can do it through Profile Manager profile. You can also do it through Users & Groups.
  9. Has the UNC path been configured?
  10. I would recommend using JAMF to manage your macbooks, it has another level of control and a lot of self-service features to make your life easier. You will lose elements like caching from the mac server.
  11. Student shared files? Do you mean homefolders, if so there is several guides on the internet.
  12. Hi, Once you've successfully renewed the certificate make sure the code signing certificate isn't going to expire. You may need to reselect the new certificate within Profile Manager under the Server app. Sadly you will need to re-enroll these manually unless you have a deploystudio where you can automate it using a workflow. http://[macserver.domain]/mydevices it's best practise to put these devices within a group then apply settings to the group. Thanks Aaron.
  13. How many Macs do you have? 20 iMacs 40 MacBooks What software is used on the Macs (e.g. Final Cut, Logic etc.)? GarageBand Are they connected to your domain or LDAP directory? AD Intergation What management tools do you use? JAMF, Munki Are you using network or local storage? Network - Synology If using local storage, how do you backup? Raid 5 What challenges do you face with your Macs? Password Management but resolved using NoMAD
  14. Hi All, We have a mac mini server and I would like to extend the internal storage, it's currently 1TB fusion drive but we have this external 3TB hard-drive caddy not being used and I would like to extend the servers storage to 4TB just for future projects, additional software and all of that. Any suggestions for combining the two drives. We currently have a drobo but it sadly doesn't link to open directory which makes me very upset. Thank you Aaron.
  15. You'll need to change the default settings within your cups server https://[server-ip]:631 it's under -> Set Default Options -> Finishing
