SmartBoard & Smart Notebook 11

Hi,

 

I am having a problem with a Smart Board and smart notebook version 11. It is very slow to respond with a delay when writing on the board. The machine is good enough to work with a SmartBoard and I have tried reinstalling the drivers, rolling back to version 10, updating the firmware, installing extra RAM in the machine, disabling smart ink. Nothing seems to work.

 

If anyone has any ideas, it would be massively appreciated as this has been going on for a while now and I cant for the life of me figure it out.

Are you able to try the same machine on another board? have you tried the fancy little reset thing under the pen tray ? might of just got a bit confused....

Smartboard 11 does eat more memory, but it does require a decent CPU too. I have it working on i3's working at a decent speed on Windows 7.

What spec PC is it connected to? I take it that it is connected to a USB 2 port on the PC?

What is the length of your USB cable? If it is over 5mtrs you may need a powered USB Hub. I have seen "laggy" boards when we have used an extra USB extension cable in the past.

its a dual core board with 3GB of RAM. Interestingly though @Techykev it is connected to a USB Extender cable, will try and move the machine to test it with just a USB cable.

Tried running a single USB Cable rather than the extender setup we have now but no joy. Its really doing my head in!

do you use a junction box on the wall or is it a cable from one to the other

We have smartboards all over the classrooms and all teachers machines have i3 machine and it works perfect, we use to have dual core pc for smartboard, it was a bit pain in neck and its slow too..

What worked for one of my users was that I installed the latest video drivers for their computer, funnily enough.
