rocknrollstar Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 We have several of these laptops, which I believe only have b/g wireless. Is it possible to do a firmware update to make them wireless 'n' ? Thanks in advance!
Steve21 Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Depends what card you're running in them. Any idea what card you're running? Steve
3s-gtech Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 The standard Dell 1397 card is G only - this is in hardware so would need to be physically upgraded if that's what you've got. The other wireless options on these models support N. Latitude E5400 Laptop Details | Dell
twin--turbo Posted January 30, 2013 Posted January 30, 2013 It's will either be a PCI-E or Mini PCI card. find out whicha nd buy a bunch of something similar of Ebay. You may find that some cards use 3-wire antenna but the laptop may actualy have 3 wire in it depending on it's age. I can't remember if you actualy need the 3rd wire or not. Rob
